Visa is valid for 6months and you can enter the US from the day you get a hold of your visa until the last day it is valid. Your decision when to enter the US. Can't leave though until you get the GC or AP approval.

i just noticed that my visa's expiry is on apr 15, 2020, issued nov 15, 2019. as per my calculation, that is only 5 months. so visas are only valid for 5 months and not 6 months as everyone believes.

good luck to all that will undergo interviews tomorrow! you got this!

It is valid 6mos but they start on the day you got your medical. When did you do your medical exam? 🤗

I've never been one for pink, but I sure like the look of that pink "Welcome to the US" approval letter . 😀

Interview this morning went flawlessly, with the exception that they needed proof of payment of my consulate fee (which I didn't have) and they had to look it up for me. Multiple documents (i.e., confirmation page from the DS-160, petitioner's status and domicile) weren't even needed.  The lady who took my documents and the lady who interviewed me were super nice. All in all, an appointment at 7:30 meant I was out by 8:34 AM.

It's real now. Oh boy.

Thanks! I just really wanted to get the interview over with. There are so many plans we haven't finalized because we knew we couldn't just assume I'd be approved. Now that it's a definite, the real fun begins. :)

Had my interview today at 8 and was approved! I was out by 845ish. The woman at the first counter was impatient and not impressed with the amount of post-it notes I had haha. She also took every financial support document I brought (pay stubs, W2s, bank statements, stocks and bonds statements, and employment contract), which I wasn't expecting but planned for. The woman that interviewed me was very nice! So glad it's over with. Time to start packing 😅

Approved!

8:30 appointment, out by about 10.

Security was very anxiety inducing, and the lady who reviewed my documents seemed a bit cranky, but the interview officer was very nice and set me at ease! I WAY over prepared. Half the documentation I brought wasn't needed, and they didn't ask for any evidence of relationship or anything!

Ahhhh

That's why I believe in the saying "most of the things we worry about do not happen at all." LOL

Better be prepared though rather than missing something during the interview.

Before I went for my interview, I made sure I have the documents that were in the packet 4 but at the same time I read the interview review of everyone. LoL

Pack pack pack!! 😉

Maybe we saw each other in the room! I wasn't in line until ~7:45am! I was in a long black coat and scarf.

Well done and congratulations! Your timeline is a model of efficiency.

One question please.. from looking at your timeline and notes I cannot tell if you had actually received a Packet 3 before sending in your Packet 3 response. It looks more like you probably sent it in as soon as you got the 2nd "Ready". Is that correct? And if so, did you actually ever receive a Packet 3?.. as email or letter?

Thanks and best wishes for your new life in the U.S.

Removal of conditions

05-02-23 I-751 sent via FedEx.

05-03-23 I-751 delivered to USCIS address in Tempe AZ.

05-09-23 Check for $680 cashed.

05-15-23 Received I-797 NOA (48-month extension). A separate letter saying biometrics to be re-used. A third letter giving online access code.

Interview occurred at 730 yesterday (Wednesday). Yup, I was the one who had to run to Eaton Centre to find a locker as they could not safely store my son’s iPad.

besides that, everything went great. Had all my docs. Lady that interviewed us was very very nice. All in all, took about an hour. Now just trying to figure out how to track my status/delivery. Currently still says “status: appointment” on the www.ais..... website.
