I-130 just got approved after a 12 month wait at the Nebraska Service center. Just found out that the wait for a interview at the Juarez consular is 9 months. What possibilities that my wife could travel and wait here in the US on a approved I-130???

An approved I-130 does not grant travel or entry authority into the US.  It only establishes a relationship.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Are you certain the wait time is for family based IVs?  I would ask your question in the Regional Mexico forum as others more familiar with the CDJ consulate may know more.  But I echo @missileman, the approved I130 has no validity related to entering the US, it is not a visa.

Good Luck!

That sounds about right from what I’ve seen recently. Unfortunately, CDJ is massively backed up right now.

She can visit in accordance with any visa’s terms. For instance, if she has a tourist visa then she can visit for as long as CBP permits st POE. However, she should not live in the US on a tourist visa. Short visits are best.

Wow.  I know in Moscow, it is something like 13 months to get in for a visitor visa interview, but K1s and CR1s are a little sooner.

Like someone already mentioned, an approved I-130 does NOT grant travel to the U.S.A. If she could obtain a tourist visa, I dont see why she couldn't temporarily visit you. The question is CAN she get one? This is sometimes very hard to obtain, but I've seen some cases where people are granted a tourist visa where they probably shouldnt have obtained one. The other thing is this visa is typically only valid for 6 months. She would still have to return to Mexico on time. I would not risk overstaying!!!

Yep 9 months, I know it sucks I was hoping I could join my husband in the US sooner than that but looks like it will take another year for us.

Take it in and start planning for the future, if possible don't quit your job yet, and if you have a B1/B2 visa you can visit your spouse.

I have already visited on a tourist visa after sending my I-130 application and got a I94 for 6 months, I have a job in Mx so I only visit for periods of 1 week.

But I visited my hubby then boyfriend multiple times in the previous years on the same tourist visa..
