NVC expedite approved. What's next?

There are two types of expedite.

One is you finish all the fees and documents in NVC. After that, you can make your interview date yourself instead of waiting in line.

One is NVC sends all your documents immediately back to your US embassy or consulate. And you pay all the fees and do documents at the embassy or consulate.

I got the second one on Aug 6.

I am so confused of what I should do next.

I am currently in the US ( on esta) traveling.

My return flight ticket is Aug 19.

I've been thinking maybe I should go back to my home country earlier so that I can do the medical exam in time.

It takes two to three weeks to get the result.

I don't know how fast the expedite process is.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Pretty uncommon to request an expedite while able to enter the US......I would contact AIT for instructions since they might operate expedites differently.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for your reply. I'll definitely call AIT tomorrow.

The reason for expedite is..

My graduate school is about to start this September, Fall 2019.

Since I am technically ineligible for F1 student visa, I can only study in the US after CR1 is issued.

And they approved my request.  😁
