When doing the documents for the AOS for K-1. Should the applications use the beneficiary's maiden name as on the Passport and Visa or use the new married name as on the marriage license?

its up to her if she wanted to keep her maiden name or she wanted to start using her married name..but whatever you use on your application that's gonna be on your greencard...

You use whatever name they now wish to use.... so if they want to use their married name that is what you put or if they want to keep their maiden name then that is what you put.....

If using their married name then you put their maiden name in the space for other names used...

i think depend what you want...if you like to carry your married name...put new married name...

if you don't wanna change....put the your name..

but better you put married name...

I used my maiden name, less problems and all documents match, and FBI namecheks can take less.

It makes it much easier that I'm the USC - and the wife .

I used my maiden name on the I-864 though.

In your case - I suggest you use your married surname if that's what you plan on using in the future

Using your married name will have no effect on your FBI name check and your documents do not have to match... your marriage certificate links your maiden name to your married name.... also if you want to change to using your married name after AOS has been approved it will cost you $370 to file a I-90 to get a new greencard in that name.... makes much more sence to do it at the time of application....

Hmm. I thought this GK card what I will get now is valid only a while, and when I will apply for 10 year card, then I will change. If I would change next time my green card, is there additional costs for using different name? Well, whats done done, I still nonofficial use both names added togeather, they sound very good this way. I like my family surname and hubby don't mind me keeping it. Also, my passport and all documents from my country is with my maiden name, I cant change nothing from here.
