From what I gather the police certificates are sent by the embassy to the beneficiary after he/she fills out the packet 3? So basically the embassy abroad completes the certificates, once they have all the information and then send it back to the beneficiary so he/she can bring it with them to the interview. Am I correct? The beneficiary doesn't physically go to the police, do i have this right or no?

Thanx!!!

I have never heard of this. Others have had to go and physically request the certificates from the agencies in their country and submit them to the embassy before their interviews. And you have to have a certificate for each place you lived at from the age of 16 in your country or outside. Example my husband attended college in another city and had to have one for this as well as his home city. Good luck and maybe you can email the embassy and ask for information on how to apply for your certiicates or maybe a VJer from this country can help as well?

Confused  where does one go to get the police certificate, if from the age of 16, he lived in that same country the whole time...?

This information is usually on the website of the particular Consulate. In your case it would be the US Consulate in Isreal.

From US Embassy Telaviv..Consular section (IV Unit)

Make sure you have requested the police clearance certificate for Israel. It will be sent directly to the embassy. However, if you lived in any other country for a significant period of time (approximately six months or longer since the age of 16), you will need to bring that police certificate from those countries as well. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S.

Aquelunya,

The second link scy posted will show you where to go to get the police certificate.

The birth certificate, does that have to be translated? He wasn't born in Israel, he's birth certificate is in Russian, so does he need it translated and notarized in English, in Hebrew or in both? Also he finished the Israeli army, does the certificate of completion have to be in English or can it be in Hebrew, he is undergoing the interview in Israel

From the US embassy telaviv website

Proper documents, complete translations, and copies of original documents. All applicants must submit certain personal documents in association with their application, and these are listed in the instructions included in each set of forms mailed to you. At the time of the interview, bring all requested original documents, translations, and one copy of each with you. English translations are required for documents written in all languages other than Hebrew

Have a look around here.....its the Immigration Visa Unit in Telaviv
