Hi Everybody,

I just got a notification that I got an RFE on my I-751😟

Does anybody know if this is common? I am freaking out now , im not sure what it is going to say or what they need, but I think I submitted enough evidence anyways in the packet we sent out :(

I included

  • bank statements
  • IRS joint returns
  • copies of the new mortgage we got ( joint)
  • copies of health insurance
  • photos

Did I miss something out here? I will add that I had just put new stuff in there from the date we filed the initial I-485. I was under the impression that we just needed to show that we are continuing our life together and not include older evidence, but I'm reading conflicting stuff going through the forums.

I think RFEs are pretty common, don't freak out. You will find out what they want you to send and you can send it. We also didn't include old stuff, just the new items showing our ongoing marriage. Please let us know what the RFE was for when you get it, and try not to stress yourself out too much. :)

They sent the biometrics appt notice to our old address after we'd done an address change form. We got an email today that we missed the appointment which was yesterday. Does this mean our green card is considered "abandoned"?

I don’t think it’s end of the world, but it’s depends on who’s made mistake: uscis got address change request and sent you email confirmation, or you, who only think address form was be completed, but actually something was be wrong (no matter on what side)  and you never received confirmation of address change.

Call USCIS immediately, have your confirmation email ready: day, time, number, - if it exists.  As my Biometrics appointment letter says, permanent residency terminated automatically, if person doesn’t show up for fingerprints in scheduled time...

We ended up doing a walk in the next day and they let him do biometrics, so I think we are okay?

They sent us a confirmation of the address change and then the biometrics was sent to the wrong address.

Aloha! We are August 2019 filers in Hawai‘i; our case was assigned to WAC. We have not received biometrics notice yet. We are going on vacation overseas in late February and are concerned that biometrics notice might arrive right before we go or while we're gone. We'll have friends housesitting and checking our PO Box, but I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on how to handle the appointment rescheduling if the notice does come around that time? Sounds like you check a box on the notice and send it back, but can anyone share the exact language and instructions on the notice? It would help us be better prepared just in case. Mahalo!

I had my biometrics rescheduled by calling uscis. It is much better, for me at least, than sending in the notice. The process was very easy and the applicant is the only person who can do it. My USC wife called first but they insisted I call and ask to reschedule. They didn't ask why I wanted to reschedule but I gave her my reasons anyway. She looked at the screen and gave me a few dates to choose from. In less than a week I received a second  biometrics letter and within three weeks I was all done.

Wow that's amazing! So was there a number to call listed on the notice? And was it toll-free or did they also offer another phone number option? Not sure if we would be able to call a U.S. toll-free number from overseas, but we could call a non-toll-free number for sure.

I called the 800 number. If you can't call toll free from overseas I would have someone in the US call them and connect you in a 3 way call

Hi, do you need to ask them to transfer to tier 2 to reschedule appointment? Or the first person answered your call was able to do that?

Hi, everyone,

Has anyone experienced that USCIS sent you an email update regarding that the interview has been cancelled and they will reschedule the interview?

Recently, I requested the change of address and before I did, my status was "The case is ready to be scheduled for an interview".

And current status is still the same but the cancellation of the interview is in the list of case history for the same day, which is 1/23/20.

I don't know what's going on. Probably some mistake on their end?

My 2yr green card expired in November2019.

We filed i751 in August and I have an extension receipt for 18 months.

My question is

Can I write an invitation letter to have my family visit me in the us this summer?

I know you have to show your legal status in the US in order to invite smn. Would visa officer be kind to grant my family a visa since my status is subjective at this point

An invitation letter is neither needed or even considered.  Your status is not subjective.......You have a pending I-751.  Your status is exactly the same as it was before your card expired.

Hello everyone. I am also an August filer and my card expired in November. I was sent an extension letter in September and nothing since then. I also have a myuscis account and there the status of my case is “Case recieved”

No update since then, no appointment for biometrics nothing.
I understand they are behind and it will take at least another year to have this finalized, but I am concerned because my husband and I are taking a cruise in March to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and I don’t know if I need to have my biometrics cleared before that.
Have you guys traveled with extension letter without the biometrics done? What was your experience?
I think I am overthinking it too much.
Thanks!

Have you checked the status on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do ?   I have found it to be more accurate than the myuscis site.
