When do people with Texas Service Center do get usually their biometric appointment?

Def file the service request. I received my extension letter last September 3rd. You should have had urs already. My service center is also Vermont (EAC). I have not received my biometrics appointment letter yet.

There's some truth to this theory, but if you take a look at the spreadsheet for MSC filers, one sees more than a few I-751 cases that are processing in record time, six to seven months (some even less) from start to finish. In those cases, the biometrics appointments came quickly, and then were ready to interview within a few months from completion of the biometrics. Most MSC-processed petitions seem to get funneled to the local office for interview from what I can tell. There's some mystery to MSC that I can't quite put my finger on...

Hi Becci, you might have already seen this. I'll share it anyway. It's a spreadsheet of cases being processed at SRC (Texas Service Center). Looks like it was created around July. I'm not sure if there's an updated version. What's striking is that very few have reported receiving biometrics appointments. That's really interesting. I'd actually welcome that, since my husband and me will be living halfway across the country for 4 months due to military orders, and I'm really hoping that my biometrics appointment won't be scheduled during that time.

My application sits at the Nebraska Service Center, so I'm checking every day if anyone else from that Center has gotten their appointment yet.

Yeah MSC is quicker but when I see some theories about lengthy time taken to review the case and some interviews I feel panic 😁😁😁my case no also starts from MSC😎good luck

Indeed, the unpredictability of the process itself combined with an arbitrary timeframe for processing make for an anxious journey.

I still don’t have my extension letter, but the biometrics appointment letter arrived today. 

 

It’s in an inconvenient location, at an inconvenient time, in the middle of a work day. I can only laugh about that 😅. I’ll try my best and make it, if not I’ll try and just do a walk in before then.

 

My case is with the Vermont Service Center (EAC).

Trying to gauge what could be happening with ours, it was mailed and tracking shows received but we’ve received nothing and they haven’t charged our card

I called and spoke with a nice representative today who said they don’t have record of receiving but that’s “normal” and to give it 30 days and call back if we haven’t gotten anything by then. I sent it in a day too soon so was expecting it to be sent back but now I just don’t know. Sorry for way too much info 😬😊

I got my case number relatively quickly and my card was charged in a timely manner as well. And as mentioned above, I just got my biometrics appointment too. 

If I was in your shoes though, I probably wouldn’t freak out. If I read your timeline correctly, you sent your application 10 days ago. So that would mean there were two weekends between your submission and today, in addition to filing early. 

They’ll probably send your application back and you’ll have to resubmit it.

People who have submitted petitions before their 90-day window opened have reported a range in the timeframe of the petition being returned. I've seen some as quickly as one week and a few as long as one month. If early submission is the issue as you suggest, eventually everything will be returned to you with each document that you sent with a scan code printed at the bottom. There will be a notice indicating that the submission was rejected and also a green slip that they ask you to include with the resubmitted package, which you should expressly resend.

Update for everyone! 

 

Apparently for the I-751 process the extension letter is in the NOA/I-797 notice of action.

 

Before 2019 petition filers would send to a specific service center and now we all send to a Lockbox mailroom at Phoenix AZ and Dallas TX I believe.
