@ Early August filers have you received your biometric letter yet ?

- receipt date 8/05 and till today no appt letter...

It will depend on which services center you end up with. Mine was MSC and they really quick for biometric( about a week after NOA1). Another services center can took a few months.

I have the same service center (MSC) they sent me my biometrics a week after my NOA1, I got it this week, and my biometrics appointment is next week on the19th. I hope they process my case just as fast lol

Hi! Also an August filer here and also from Atlanta. You can see our timeline: filed 08/19 with NOA 08/22. You said you applied at Texas (Georgia residents like us apply at the Texas Lockbox), but were you assigned to SRC for processing? Sadly, I've not seen much movement for scheduling biometrics appointments out of Texas (SRC) even for folks who filed months earlier than August.

Hi Aburahsid and Becci391,

I did send my form to Lewisville (TX) and I would have to confirm but I remember receiving my NOA with Texas Service Center as the processing center.

It’s nice to have two people from Atlanta with the same timeframe. I will let you know when there’s movement but it might take a while. Fingers crossed.

Hi Franklann, absolutely! Let's keep each other informed as our petitions make their way through the process. I'm especially curious whether being in a high-immigrant service area like Atlanta slows down biometrics scheduling times at all at the local office. Last week our case was transferred to the National Benefits Center, but I have no clue why...or how the transfer might impact our case if at all. Any movement I'll certainly report to this thread. All the best!

Hey Becci,

I'm in the same boat here.  I'm not sure how you're seeing it, but it looks to me as if biometrics appointments for the Atlanta local office are slow coming.  As I mentioned before, I think there's a relationship between location of the local office (high immigrant-population city vs. rural Midwest America) and the speed of scheduling the appointments.  As well, the office that is processing the petition is another significant variable.  I'm wishing us all the best in our journeys!  I'll keep you guys informed of how things are going on my end...

Sunday 8/25/2019:  I-751 package sent from Raleigh, NC via FedEx 2-day for $25

Wednesday 8/28/2019: Received and signed for at USCIS Phoenix, AZ at 10:30am according to FedEx tracking

No email, no text from USCIS.  I paper clipped the email/text form to the cover letter.  I don't think that's the best way to do it.  I assume the form got unclipped and lost?

Monday 9/2/2019: Labor day

Wednesday 9/4/2019: Check cashed according to bank account online lookup

Saturday 9/7/2019: 18 month extension notice received in the mail.  Assigned to Potomac Service Center (YSC).

Good luck to everyone.  Hope this timeline helps.

Hey JJpink,

How do you know which service center they have assigned you?

I have the same time line as yours received my extension letter 9/7

So I have a theory, could be wrong. Looks like cases assigned to MSC get their biometrics appointments scheduled very soon after initial filing, then wait more than a year for approval, while cases assigned to other service centers have their biometrics as the last step in the approval process. This isn't 100% accurate, as I've seen at least one recent case assigned to CSC get their biometrics appointment pretty quickly. If you look at the aggregate timelines you see lots of cases where the biometrics appointment is scheduled well over a year after filing and the green card is approved very shortly afterwards.

While i received my extension letter pretty quickly (SRC), i’m more than 30days after my NOA and still no biometric scheduled. Made a request on 9/09 and it’s not yet assigned...

I've still yet to receive my extension or biometrics letter. This coming Monday I'm eligible to file a service request for my missing NOA1 since it has been over 30 days, which I will be doing once I get a chance to. I do know that my application has been received and has been routed to Vermont (EAC) thanks to the charge on my credit card and the acceptance text so at least I know it's with them.
