Got the extension letter today (the 26th), issued on the 23rd. Check still not cashed, which is why when I saw a scan of the envelope in my USPS Informed Delivery dashboard, it scared me a little 😖 I thought the first thing they do when they accept a case is charge you, so I was like "whaaaaaat could it beeeeeee?!?!?" 😄

Next step is getting to the FedEx Print and Ship office to get it scanned, and then it's just hoping there won't be an RFE 🤞

Oh! I kinda thought that when they rejected my petition, that receipt number would be my case number going forward (it was EAC). But this one is different, LIN. (Do I change the filing location in my profile to Nebraska then?)

We are August 2019 filers.  We've been following this string for the past week or so, and thought it useful to chime in with our timeline since we just received the text notification yesterday.

Our timeline and situation are quite close to Becci391 (we are also based out of Atlanta):

8/19/2019 (Monday):  I-751 package sent USPS Express to USCIS (Dallas Lockbox)

8/20/2019 (Tuesday):  Package arrived at Dallas P.O. Box at 11:30AM, but not picked up by USCIS

8/21/2019 (Wednesday):  Picked up at 3:30AM (Odd pick up time); signed for by K. THORNQUIST

8/23/2019 (Friday):  Text notification and e-mail received with SRC case number (Texas Service Center)

Assuming check will be cashed shortly (maybe today, Saturday or certainly by Monday).

Awaiting extension letter and biometrics appointment--receipt times for extension letter at residence seem to be all over the place and the word on the street is that biometrics appointment letters seem to be slow issued from Texas Service Center. We'll be watching this string very closely to see how others are moving and happy to share our situation along the way.

8/26/2019 (Monday):  Check hadn't cashed as of today, but extension letter arrived in the mail.  No complaints about the check, though.  The extension letter is in hand.  I'm sure the check will clear soon.  SRC (Texas) strikes me as pretty efficient on the initial notification--ours got to this point in exactly one week from mailing of the petition to receipt of the letter.  Texas would get mad kudos if the biometric appointments came out as efficiently.  Let's see what happens next...

Except mine was sent to Lewisville via Fedex

Any updates for you yet? We still have not received any text or email notifications (parcel sent 19/8, received 21/8), but I checked our bank today and the cheque has just been cashed. So hopefully that's a good sign!

Edit: Oops, just saw your update above, and you got your text notifications yesterday. :) Maybe ours will come today.

Has anyone tried checking their case status online recently? Right when I got the number, it worked, but now whenever I type in the case number, it just goes back to the same USCIS page. Was wondering if it’s just me or is the system down or something

that happened to me as well. When I got my case # via text (Aug 26--Monday), I was able to view the case status via

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.doIt showed Case was Received Aug 21, 2019.

The next day, Tuesday, I went again to check the website if there are updates. Nope. For some reasons, it didnt display anything.

However, when i tracked the case # via https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant, I was able to view the case #. The receipt date is different though. It shows case was received Aug 26, 2019 instead of the Aug 21, 2019.  I double checked and confirmed that it is the same case number.

Hey Guys/Gals,

So my CGC expires 11/2/2019. My husband and I sent the package 8/2 via USPS to the AZ lockbox; packet was delivered by 8/3.We didn't hear back for a week until I realized we sent it to wrong Lockbox (we are filling from NJ). A few more hopeful days go by with no such luck of package being sent back to us. I go to my bank to put a stop order on the checks so I may issue new ones (was planning of resending a new packet to the correct lockbox this time), they said I would have to wait till after 9/2 to actually cancel the checks (10 business days). comes 8/22 and low and behold, I receive my application packet back from USCIS I open to find all the content plus an explanation letter of rejection. They post marked it as 8/3, rejection reason: filled TOO EARLY... not the reason I was expecting but I have since then mailed back to USCIS (Texas lockbox) with reissued checks and original application including green letter they asked to attach, and the rejection reason for good measure. Packet mailed 8/23, delivered 8/27th. Still waiting on a a text message......Let the waiting games begin!

Good Luck everyone.

You are one day too early based on the early filing calculator. If your GC expires 11/2/2019, the earliest you can file will be 11/4/2019
