POE Different Than The Physical Address

K-1 Visa filer here, with an approved visa.

When we filed for the Visa to the embassy, we mentioned that my fiance's address is in Michigan, but she wont move there for at least a month, around early September, and she's currently in Chicago.

Will there be a problem if I board the USA through Chicago or (in your experience) would they tell me I should've boarded through Detroit?

Thank you

You can arrive at any border point. We live in Washington state but I arrived at Las Vegas and we stayed there for 4 days before going onwards to Washington. It doesn’t make any difference at all.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Doesn't matter as other posters have said. You can enter at any point as many many people do , and then they transit onward to their final destination.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Nobody cares what you do after you leave customs and immigration.

I recall my wife’s initial POE was supposed to be LA (meh) followed by a domestic to Houston. That’s just how the itinerary shook out.

Somehow the airline switched the route to San Francisco ——> LA ————>Houston.  It was kind of a last minute thing.  Moved POE to San Francisco which is a really cool stop.

So I flew in and met her at international arrivals in San Francisco,  we just blew off her other two flights, and spent a great 3 days exploring.  We booked last minute Southwest return flights to Houston to get home.

Safe trip!  LOL
