Whatever, at this point I'm not believing anyone anymore.

Calendula:  I heard you. I dont know much about your personal situation but please take a break. Sometimes we need a break from a website, from the visa process, from USCIS.... it will help you to feel fine when you receive your EAD and proceed with the interviews to get a job. I send a hug.

If you are married, your spouse can add you to his/her insurance.

Yes I’m married but, both of us are in the same position, we are being filed for by our child. Even though I haven’t mentioned him before that’s because every action taken thus far we did it together, so I just assumed that “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander“ so to speak.

Let's take a step back and relax.  Inhale, exhale.  What we have ALL learned is the immigration process is far from clear.  At times it can seem so frustrating and unfair.

Calendula:  If it is ANY consolation at all, we feel your pain.  Really.  We're all trying to reach the same finish line.  If you want to vent, vent.  Some may not want to hear it.  You're welcome here.  I hope things happen very quickly for you going forward.  Regrettably I cannot wave some magic wand and solve your situation.  I sure wish I could.  Good luck and stay strong.  Eventually you will get there.

Yu Q:  I have to agree with Calendula on one particular item.  This is a forum and people are going to vent.  Not everyone is going to write happy thoughts.  There are many different personalities on this forum.  Sometimes people are just going to spew.  So let them spew.  If you find certain contributors are not to your liking, you can choose not to read their stuff anymore.  When things take a turn for the better, I suspect Calendula will be doing cartwheels all over this forum.

All:  Hang in there and happy new year.

Hi Tasty

I agree with Yu Q.

There is another space in this website where people can vent: it is named people can vent here or something like that.

We all are trying to support to each other here, and being respectul to each other is something we all appreciate.

We are also coming from different cultures, etc.

There isnt obligation to reply or respond to inbox emails when people ask questions or ask for help. But some of us do with an genuine interest for helping.

And I have benefited from the help of people in this thread.

But we all appreciate kindness. In any culture, actually.

I was not aware of the vent section.  I only go to certain parts of this website.  I seldom venture out to other areas.  I guess you can say I use this website in a 'just in time' fashion.  Maybe Calendula wasn't aware of it either.

With that being said, I reiterate that venting is a part of this site.  Go to any forum, any thread and you will find people spewing.  Do we tell them all to go to some special forum?  I just haven't taken Calendula's posts in the same way Yu Q has.

I maintain this is a 'community' and if you don't like what someone says you can choose not to read their posts.  This applies to any forum on this website.

And you know Cata I say this to you knowing we have a good relationship.  And I know you have had your own challenges lately and I wish you the best as you move forward.  We're even in the same area so you get a special 'shout out' from me from our beloved Boston.

I do agree with your other post.  Sometimes you need to take a break and maybe Calendula has reached that point and should enjoy New Year's Day, decompress a little and then return after some things have blown over.  I reached a similar point during the I-129f phase.  I dropped out... even closed my account (ok, that was drastic)... and then returned under this current name after we received our approval which coincidentally was about a week or two later !!!

Calendula:  Don't close your account like I did!  🙂  But maybe taking a break and just putting everything behind you for a certain period of time might be therapeutic for you.  Otherwise, just hang out here and hopefully things start breaking your way soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🥳

USCIS received my RFE response (for AOS) on Nov. 14, 2019 and still nothing. That's 49 days. I guess other people have been waiting longer than me.. Maybe our RFE caused our cases to be delayed by 30-60 days? I don't know..

Hi all, happy new year. Long time reader and first time poster here.

Our status for i-765 was recently changed to 'New Card Is Being Produced.' It's definitely a great way to start the new year and I am very grateful and happy. For those of you who have received the employment authorization card, a couple of questions:

a. How long did it take between the status change and receiving the actual card in the mail? I read somewhere that it can take up to 60 days 😲

b. Would you recommend applying/ looking for jobs now or waiting until the card arrives in the mail?

Thank you.

Thank you.

I had two EAD cards while on OPT.
1) less than a week

2) now. Interview processes can be long

My wife's EAD card came in the mail about 5 days after being produced.  It was pretty quick.

Parking was okay, we didn't have trouble to park. There were at least 4 or 5 available on the last row, but we got greedy and wanted to see if there's any closer ones (lol), luckily there was one right in front of the door (we just got lucky, wouldn't suggest it if you are in a hurry).

Even though if there's not parking in the parking lot, there's plenty street parking around tbh so i dont gonna be a problem. However, depends on the road condition and your interview time, you might want to leave early because if it's near rush hour, Arapahoe road can be really busy and slow, so you can leave yourself enough time and not stressed out!

Good luck to you!

Hi Yu Q,

I'm also a filer in Denver and on an oddly similar timeline to you. I filed beginning of October, did my biometric in October 31, got an RFIE for my work authorization (the intending immigrant) 1 month later (beginning of December), and now I'm on a waiting game until the next move. I just want to say thank you for your comments and suggestions for Denver filers like me.

Did you adjust from K-1 or F-1/B-1, and if it's not too intrusive, may I ask what was your RFE about, and how long after you responded that the USCIS moved forward with your case?
