For people who expedited Form I-765 how long did it take for you to receive letter from USCIS regarding the initial evidence? Thanks.

It should take about a week

I live in Raleigh and my wife tried to get a driver's license and they told her with the amount of days left on her i-94 they couldn't issue her one. But some told me that she could go back with her AOS recipiet notice and get one even with her I-94 expired

It varies state by state. You can try this and ask for a 1 year license.

Yes, I am also in NC. They gave me a license for 180 days from my NOA date.

But was your i-94 already expired when you went to the dmv?

Yes, it had expired. They will be able to do a 180 day licence from the i-485 NOA date. Probably only until February now if you are an August filer, but better than nothing.
