Hi Cata,

did you call USCIS to check on your case status?

and if you did, where did you call?

Hi

Yes, I contacted USCIS to inquiry about my case and whether the case was ready for interview.

You need dial the USCIS  Number (1-800-375-5283), and then choose the following options to reach a custome representative

Hi! I’m hoping someone can clarify what I believe to be true, I did post a while ago with the information directly from the I-485 instructions.

K-1 holders who had a medical in their home country are not required to attend the interview with a I-693 right?

Hi Brandon

The USCIS website indicates that if you enter the United States as a K1 holder:

https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/fiancees

"Note: If you received a medical examination before being admitted to the United States, you may not need to have another examination but you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. See the Form I-693 Instructions for more information"

The proof that you complied with the vaccination requirement is the form  DS-3025 that you submitted to USCIS when you filed I 485.

Therefore, you do not need the form I-693.

And, if you didnt present these documents to USCIS, they would have sent you a RFE because it is a requirement.

In my particular case, I will take a proof of the influenza vaccination to the USICS interview as I wasnt able to take it in my home country. I took that shoot after arriving to the United States.

Let me know if you find a different information

Cata

I would take just because: you never know

In the case of colombians, I dont know about other nationalities,  and if you entered the United States with a K1 Visa, you dont have the form I 693 with you.

This form was enclosed in the envelop that the american embassy sent to the CBP border agent at the airport.

When entering to the United States, we gave the envelop to the CBP border agent.

Our case is also ready to schedule as of November 7! Do they send the interview time in the mail like they did with biometrics?

Yes they will send you a letter with the date time location  and what to bring.

There's some of us who are still waiting for their case to change to "ready to be scheduled", so I don't think you should worry too much. You're still ahead of a lot of people.

Oh ok. I just saw many people here scheduled for interviews already so just curious about it. Why they turn very fast because of local office work fast or because of Aos from K1. But wish you have a good news soon. Good luck

Each case is handled by different people, and some of them are faster than others to review the files. Some of them lost pieces too. Like they lost my birth certificate and sent me an RFE and I had to send it back to them. It's set me back 5 weeks now compared to other people who were on the same timeline as me, but I know that others have been set back even longer. We just have to be patient, I suppose. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do. Hang on there !

You can call USCIS though, sometimes they don't update the website even though your case moved.

We are now scheduled for an interview!! Holy smokes it's moving fast. We got the "Ready to be scheduled for interview" notice three days ago and were expecting to wait another few months.

Now we wait for the letter with the interview date on it!
