I received the RFE letter and they're asking .... for my birth certificate and translation. I don't know who was in charge of verifying all of these files and lost all of these birth certificates, but they need to be better at their job?

Yes, I am sure.

I just sent my Birth Certificate today but it costed a ton of money to re-send again this document and traslation not to mention that there is a delay in the process of almost 4 weeks.

Did it cost a lot of money because you had to ask for your birth certificate again ? And was the 4 weeks delay also because of that ?

It cost a ton of money to me because I had to order a new traslation of the birth certificate.

I submitted the original brith certificate and the original traslation to english to USICS.

And it creates a delay because of all bureaucratic process: without this people losing this document my case would have been ready for interview on the 4th of October.

Hey. I’m so sorry to hear about your situation that they lost your Birth certificate. I really hope so that it won’t effect you wait time a lot.

i just have question to u: so do they only accept original birth certificate and translated copy or they need only original? Coz I sent them copies.

You're supposed to send them copies. I did everything the right way and they still are asking me to send them my birth certificate and translation 🙄

Got RFIE letter today. Thankfully it isn't too hard of a fix - Despite how meticulously I gathered my docs, I made a small boo boo and forgot to include joint sponsor's TAX RETURN documentation - I only showed W-2s. D'oh. Totally my fault.

We got the Tax Return Transcript printed out from the IRS' website and are gonna overnight ship out the response tomorrow, so USCIS should have it on Thursday.

Does anyone know if we might get another RFE at this point, considering this was an RFIE? Or since this was the only doc they found to be missing, we may be good to go?

Adjustment of Status (from F-1)

National Benefits Center

Charlotte Field Office

8-23-19: NOA1

9-17-19: Biometrics

10-10-19: RFIE

10-24-19: RFIE Response Received by USCIS

11-07-19: Ready to be Scheduled for Interview

11-12-19: Scheduled for Interview

12-18-19: Interview

12-20-19: Approved!

This morning I woke up to "we touched your case" email from USCIS. Our responce to RFIE (my sons corrected I-864) reached them on Friday according to USPS and they updated the status online in just 1 working day. Wow, that was speedy. So good luck to those who are dealing with RFIEs.

My understanding is that RFIE technically does not preclude getting an RFE later because at this stage at the National Benefits Center they just establish the general eligibility and do not go into your case deeply. RFE may come later when a field office looks into your case to schedule the interview, like when people do not provide their medical results with the filing or they somehow expire or something similar.

Our RFE arrived on Saturday and my response should be at Lee's Summit tomorrow by the end of the day. As the RFE was for my son's I-864 I am faithfully checking my own case at the new website because I feel they might want me to adjust my own (normally we should have filed two identical in two separate files, but who knew then). But so far so good, my case stays at Fingerprints Review Completed. Not that the RFE by itself is a bad thing but the delay certainly is taken in mind there will hardly be an interview for us in 1 1/2 years

Hi! Can you help me out with something? My RFE arrived in Lee’s Summit yesterday - how many days from when yours arrived did it take for your case to update to say they’d received it?

thanks!

Just 1 full working day. I think they will update tonight/thursday morning if they proceed with the same speed as on my case.

So, we did the exact same thing and didn't submit the TAX RETURN (copied the wrong part and just the W2s for 2018 tax year)

We're going through Rapid Visa and sometimes I'm really tired of them not reading the thread of messages, ending up in them explaining to us the content of the RFE letter (as if we don't know how to read) instead of telling me if the documents I have for my birth certificate are good 🙄 I guess I won't be sending them today.

Anyone else having trouble getting their Drivers License with the NOA1?

I‘m in Texas and my DL process is now in “manual verification“ because they apparently can’t very my lawful presence through SAVE... I already had my biometrics appointment and have all my NOA1s.

And in Texas you can only drive with your foreign license for the first 90 days. Meaning as of Saturday I am completely dependent on my husband to drive me everywhere.

Is anyone here who has done experience on the time frame for this?

I finally got the letter today that my lawful presence has been verified and I can go get my Drivers license! Woohoo!
so off to DPS tomorrow!
