@R&CMand @Mr & Mrs Snowmanit feels like we are all in very similar situations.

RFE received (in our case questions that made no sense at all; anyway we responded to them; maybe the same for you!) and the response received by USCIS a few days after.

then just sitting and waiting.

I am worried that either 100% or nearly 100% of EAD approvals I am seeing on VJ are for people who either never got an RFE or got an RFE and then saw I-485 status move to "Interview Ready to be Scheduled."  we are not there... still stuck on "Response to Initial Evidence Received."  Worried that until this moves, nothing else will.

Yes Its frustrating I see that a lot of cases move so fast ...some people with november times is moving so fast now are in case ready for interview and travel and work card permit in hand and we are from august and nothing ...its incredible !....my RFIE was my Birth certificate and translation ( I sent in the application) maybe they lost ......i saw the my RFIE in the app on Oct 11 - arrive at home at oct 18 I sent on Oct 21 and they received at oct 24 - and in the app say " We received Response for Initial Evidence " and after that day we no know nothing .....and are worring too !

My case is also similar to this.

Received RFIE for birth certificate when we clearly sent in multiple copies along with translation as well. They received the evidence Oct 28 and no other movement since.

I called last month since they have received our RFIE more than 60 days without any answer, and the rep was nice and helpful, he did a case inquiry for me and told me I should be getting an email within 14 days. I called again today because it’s passed the 2 week mark since they opened the case inquiry, and this time the rep was indifferent and tried to talk past me when I explained our case situation. She clearly said she didn’t know why someone did case inquiry for me when my case was still in progress with the timeline, in fact I still have “24 MONTHS” before I could voice a complaint. She raised up her voice and told me they clearly received our evidence and we just need to wait.

I’m writing this to inform those who read this, that it’s basically our luck in terms of calling them. You might get the helpful rep, or you might have someone yelling at you for trying to look for help.

Congratz! Do you have a list of documents you prepared for the intv? How about the intv questions? was it tough?

We brought everything related to our I-130 Application and proof of relationship: photos together, joint documents (car insurance, apartment lease).  I also brought screenshots of our text messages showing our day to day communications with each other.  They asked us a lot of questions about the information on our Petition, including my wife's parents names which I stumbled on for a second (I usually just call them "mom" and "dad" at their preference). They also asked me the date of our marriage... Just remember you know everything by heart because some of the numbers and names can be easy to mix up if you aren't paying attention.  Don't expect the interviewer to be friendly because it is their job to examine each closely... So make sure you are prepared as much as you can! This is an interview at the end of the day and you have to put your best foot forward and not just assume you are going to be approved even if it seems like it's a slam dunk.

Interview Cancelled!

Yesterday, Feb 6th my interview was cancelled but I did not received any cancellation notice from the mail. The security officers allowed us to go inside and was able to sign in by the window capturing my finger prints and photo. However on Feb 3rd my case tracker alert me of a new update and indeed stated a notification for Cancelled Interview. On jan 30th, a uscis admin assistant emailed me about the cancellation. My husband decided that we still proceed and drive over the field office. I'm hoping that the IO will proceed with the interview. Unfortunately, the officer confirm that it was cancelled and apologized for us driving over. I am hoping that my interview date will rescheduled soon.

So happy that my case is  ready to be scheduled for an interview today (I know it's not the same as interview is scheduled). Atleast I know they are working on my case and my work permit is coming soon.

Hey there!

I have my interview coming up and just wanted to find out from anyone who has already had their interview and didn’t get any updates on your EAD (with SSN requested): did you receive a SSN card after your interview with your green card, or did you have to go to the SSN office to apply for one?

Thank you and sending good vibes to everyone.

same here. But atleast I am still working. I called USCIS yesterday as 30 days had passed since my service request and the rep said that she did not know why the previous rep filed the service request as I was still within the processing times. I even asked about filing for expediting my EAD if I had an offer letter and she said that I need to have extreme reasons like past due in paying bills, to file for expedite which i feel was a load of &^$# as a lot of people have expedited their EAD with an offer letter.
