Thing is the invoice number is not required to continue the online process, only case# and date of birth. I will reach out to the embassy but i think for cr1 there is no invoice number so im not sure what i should ask.

Well if ur unable to login, I would ask them if they have any suggestions. My husbands visa is also a CR1 and the invoice number is required to submit the ds260, but maybe because ur DCF there is no invoice number? You might just need to wait 48 hours but because u received the notice by mail, I feel like the case number should already be in the CEAC system. Hopefully it starts working for you soon. I also noticed your case number format is different then what is assigned by the NVC, that’s probably why they told u the number was wrong. It should be 2019 and then your Julian date +500, so I see yours is 2019197 when it should be more like 2019697. I’m not sure if that helps at all but just an observation.

A month ago we recived a 1 page letter in the mail with a case number and directions to complete DS-260 online at https://ceac.state.gov/IV. This was after our DCF i130 was approved for my wifes CR1.  When I enter the case# then wifes date of birth and press contiune it goes to an error page that reads "Your request cannot be processed at this time."

I called the NVC multiple times and they were no help. Has anyone seen this before of have suggestions on what to do next?

Just so you know, there is a DCF forum on this website... you might find more information there. Most of use are not DCF here, so we might not be the best resource.

Hi, no I didn’t receive DQ yet:( After speaking to NVC, I apparently submitted the wrong AOS form and it got rejected and we’ve had to submit the correct form I-864 joint sponsor rather then I-864A. We were misguided unfortunately! After requesting to delete the household member, there was a glitch that caused few original submitted forms to be  missing:( So we re submitted and added the correct AOS form and now praying all goes well. :) Good luck to you, hope you receive great news soon!

I’m sorry to hear that but I just wanted a better understanding so from i1864 is to be used when you are NOT using another household member to meet the income requirements and form i1864A  is to be used when you NEED a household member to meet to income requirements?

They are not the same. It specifically states “if none of these apply, use i864.” If the three items stated apply to you, you need to use 864EZ. If you submit the wrong form, there is a chance it will be denied and they will ask you to resubmit the correct form according to the table above.

Thank you I understand it now, I was able to complete the right form and add it. From researching I found out that you can always add more documents to the ceac but it has to be done before the 3 weeks time frame and before they review it so that everything can be reviewed at the same time...., a million thanks and may God bless you for helping someone who was lost ❤️

Hi! I just have some questions about Form i-864 and i-864A.

I, (the petitioner) my current income is not enough so I would need a co-sponsor for the Affidavit of Support (for CR1-spousal visa)

I live with my family (father, brother), my brother is willing to be a co-sponsor and use his income to help me(the petitioner) to meet the income requirements for I-864.

My brother and I live in the same house, but we file our taxes independently every year.

Given the situations above, here are some questions I have:

1. Which form should my brother use? I-864 (Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA)
OR
I-864A (Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member)?

I’m a little confused with the term “household”, if it means that an household member is someone who you claim as a dependent on taxes.

OR if it simply means that an “household member” is any family member that lives on the same address as I do.

2. Also, my brother’s filing status is Single. Aside from tax transcripts, will he need to submit paystub or w2’s?

3. I, the (petitioner), my filing status for 2018 tax return is Married Filing Separately (because my husband is overseas)
I’m also planning to submit 3yrs tax transcripts. Aside from that, do I also need to submit paystub or w2’s?

Thank you in advanced!

I’m curious to hear more about the submitting more documents after the original submission. I have some paperwork for my AOS id like to add but i didn’t want to take the chance of restarting the clock. Could you elaborate/send along the information you found?

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I might be here too early as I have just now seen our online status updated to "case sent to department of state for visa processing". We haven’t received any NOA2 letter but starting preparations even if we don’t get to file in August yet.

I also have a question about the financial documents. My USC husband works as consultant/ independent contractor for a few companies. He should have tax transcript available but not really a work contract or pay stubs. Do you think transcript is enough? (we won’t use co-sponsors)

And I'm wondering about the original documents needed for the interview. I understand the NVC phase is about “petitioner’s financial documents and the applicant’s civil documents”, so will I need petitioners divorce decree? We of course submitted a copy to USCIS but I don’t think he has the original.

Thank you!

Yes you will need the petitioners divorce decree, for both the NVC and the interview.

About tax transcript, the instructions say  to submit tax transcript, and include w-2  if you filed jointly. Pay stubs and employment letter are optional, you can include them if you think they will help.

If you google "Begin national visa center" you will see the official NVC website, and there you can see everything you will need to do and every document you will need for the NVC and interview. They have instructions there for everything. I was just reading it last night since my case was approved this week :)
