I’m guessing 1040 form is tax returns

nvc can accept but the ultimate decision lies with the embassy n currently they r looking at transcripts and not returns.. I will advice u get transcripts to avoid a 221g asking for transcripts

You can get transcript instantly to print online at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Take both the 1040 and whatever transcript you can obtain (past three years if possible). Some of us who are still filing taxes on extension will not yet have a transcript for 2018 so we must take the 1040, W2, extension letter, etc to interview.

Good luck at your interview!!!

The IRS can also fax the transcripts to you. For us we had problems getting it online and was faxed to us immediately (just need to call them and have a fax). They are also able to fax overseas, for us it was faxed to us in Brazil.

Great idea! If you don't have a fax then have it sent to a local UPS/Fedex shop to hold for pickup. Nice that they sent them so fast!

NVC is just a pass-through. The embassy has the ultimate say in what they you to bring for you interview. Do exactly what the embassy is asking you to do in the letter. Tell your father to request transcripts from IRS; he can even download them online by himself through IRS.gov. They can also fax it to him.
