An update regarding the interview.  It was very perfunctory, the CBP officers simply reviewed the application information (full name, birth date, place of birth, current address, work and travel history) and if there are any errors, they can be corrected.  One thing that was different is that on the electronic form, you cannot include Canada and Mexico in the travel history section, but the officer did include these (if it was applicable) on the form they were using.  Then the photo, finger prints and out the door.  They told us we would get the GE card in 10-14 days, but once it was fully approved, one's passport should already work.  The entire process took less than 10 minutes and they were nice at the Port Huron office as we arrived 45 minutes prior to our appointment time (I thought it was 12 noon), but they took care of us right away.

Good Luck!

Did you book the appointment when you applied or until you got the conditional approval?

According to the website he is eligible now already, being a citizen of Switzerland.

I guess I have to wait until I have the Green card? or can I apply after I received AP?

He is eligible because he is a citizen of Switzerland.

However when I read through something ( I cannot remember) it sounded like if he has it NOW, he will have to reapply it later with the GC. So we decided that instead of doing GE two times, let us just do it one time once he receives the GC.

Like I said, I may be misinformed. But maybe wait until you have the GC to be 100% sure????

He can apply now but I think he has to go back again to the Enrollment Center to update his record with the green card info. I applied right before my oath so I can have my GE interview with my US passport. I don't want to go back for a second time (it's 4 hours away) unless of course I do it at the airport after overseas arrival.

You won't be allowed to book until you get conditional approval. You'll see the available slots though.

Just update information in person, not a new application. If it's only a change of address, then it can be done online.

I forgot to mention that since he's not changing passports yet and just adding green card info, he can do that upon overseas arrival at the airport. The problem would be if it's like mine changing nationalities and wanting to use GE upon arrival. I have to update beforehand.

Do you have to go to an interview for the Global Entry? What is it like?

"Life is a journey." At this moment, it's taking me to the USA to the woman I love.

At the Orlando Airport location, there is a sign up sheet outside the office to put your name and appt time. A cbp officer escorted me to her cubicle (no small talk unlike naturalization interview). Told her first that i am now American citizen and showed her my passport. Asked me if I can still use my Philippine passport since it won't expire until 2022. Told her i can't because I'm not a Filipino citizen anymore. I guess I didn't really make myself clear that that passport wasn't valid the moment I took the oath for us citizenship and that i have to apply for reacquisition of Filipino citizenship and for new Philippine passport.

Anyway, she asked which countries I visited during the past 5 years. Took my picture, I asked her if I can smile. She said that is OK, said that GE card will be mailed within a week. My interview was on a Sunday. I got the card on  Friday.

Interview was 15 min or so.

Just an update, we had our interview last Wednesday at the Bluewater Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan (there is a review of that on page one) and Katya received her card yesterday.  I expect to get mine today, so it was less than the 7-10 working days we were told.

Next time do the Nexus card for you.   It costs half as much and has same benefits and GE.   She can get Nexus after citizenship.

GE isn't for entry into Canada.    And ironically half the price of  GE.  Just keep that in mind for renewal.
