Hi all,

I am a UK citizen who has married a USC and my wife is a student who hasn't worked jobs that would require her to file taxes. I am on an H1B and have enough income to support both of us.

I was told over here that I could use my income to meet the income req on I-864. I got the following letter printed on letterhead from my employer to support my I-864 application, can you guys give it a read and see if my manager should make any changes.

----

[USCIS address]

[Employer address]

[Date]

To Whom It May Belong,

This letter is being written in support of the applicant, Mr. [My full name] by his manager, [Manager's full name] to provide proof that he is employed full time at [Company and Department] since [date of hire]. This letter is also used as a supplement to the employment verification letter provided by our company's HR department, which lists the applicant's official title, salary, and work duties. The applicant has worked with our team as one of its invaluable core components, providing excellent technical support in areas above and beyond his scope of work. Many of our current work processes are being taken care of by him, and without his invaluable technical support we would face many hurdles in accomplishing our goals. We are extremely pleased with his work ethic, professionalism, and character.

His current work authorization is an H1B visa, which has been sponsored by our organization. However, we are aware that he is in the process of applying for Adjustment of Status and should the applicant successfully obtain lawful permanent residence in the United States, we shall continue their employment on the same terms. Our company's HR department has policies in place that allow H1B visa holders to transfer to permanent resident status without causing any break in their employment. The applicant's salary and benefits will continue as before without any break or alteration.

If you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me on the address above.

Thank you,

The letter looks alright to me.

Note: There is no such thing as "hasn't worked jobs that would require her to file taxes". All jobs require reporting of taxes. What matters is the amount of income earned, not the type of job.
