A nettie pot or netty pot I think it's called. I have heard clearing your sinuses like that is supposed to be good. I have never tried it.

As far as being sick, I rarely take or do anything unless I really have to.

My husband (the USC) has half the pharamcy in his medicine chest. One sniffle and he is pumping himself full of stuff.

for menstral cramps or stomach upset eat a heaping spoonful of ground cumin or ground cinnamon.

if you have a cut put a lot of henna on it. somehow its supposed to close the wound and heal it.

never, never walk around the house barefoot! my fiance and his family are nutty about that. they are sure you would get sick from walking around on the cold floor without sandals. lol everytime i come in the kitchen my fiance's mom always checks my feet to make sure i'm wearing some. and if i'm not, she'll tell him to get me some right away! its hilariously strange.

Vinegar and salt in warm water to gurgle when you have a sore throat, we do that in Brazil.

Actually, in Brazil we have TONS of homemade "cures", but my parents are both doctors so in my house we had a whole pharmacy at home, and everything is cured with industrial medication, of course mom never gaves anything for a simple cold unless we were feeling like total #######, or give us aspirin (yes, brazilians use lots of aspirin) for every little headache, so it wasn't a pill for every single thing.

For congestion, boil garlic and then drink. Wards off vampires too. Personally, I can't get it passed my esophagus.

I always told my kids that soap and water cures everything, but the real cure is Mountain Dew and Advil. I don't know ...works for me.

There's an asana in yoga, I forget what it's called, where you inhale water through each nostril... my wife claims it helps fix sinus problems and stuffy nose...

I tried it once, my stuffy nose went away but I had a nose bleed. Don't think I will try it again.

These two are from my mom

drink chamomile tea for menstural cramps

If you have asthma

boil half a purple onion in 2 cups water then and add 3drops of almond oil. Drink this brew of tea every day untill your asthma disapears. Also dont eat or drink cold foods or beverages. This was a cure given to my mom by a native Aztec indian in Mexico. When my brother was little he had asthsma so bad that he would have to get hospitalized so many times. After my mom was given this home made remedy she was willing to try any thing and this did the trick. After a few months of my mom forcing this weird concauction of onion tea every night my bros asthma was 100% gone! Hes been asthma free for almost 20 years now.

from my hubby

Boil some fresh ginger in some water to make a tea. Then squeez half a lemon into it and drink it hot ot cure colds or flu.

from my grandmother

for a cold have a shot of tequila
