Apologies for starting so many threads, but I am at my wits end here and need some advice.

I've got DQ on 26th June 2019 (FB2 visa, dad sponsoring me 😊), my priority date is 13th March 2013, (according to Visa Bulletin my papers are current).....and I have heard nothing from anyone regarding anything ! I also checked my account and my papers are still at the NVC.

I have a wedding to go to in Florida and I have tickets booked (since last year) for two weeks time (Aug 22nd) and I genuinely don't know what to do. I have no idea how you receive your interview letter, is it through the mail or through email ?

I have emailed the NVC to try and get answers on Monday and as of right now, heard nothing from them.

I'm messing so many people around (I'm a bridesmaid) and getting yelled at all directions and seriously don't know whether I can go or not. If I know the IL comes via email then I can still receive it and move it if necessary, but if it comes via mail, I won't be able to go, but I can at least tell the bride that I can't make it.

Help please !!

It is stressful and sucks but this is a sacrifice you are just going to have to make. Immigrate successfully or be a bridesmaid. At this point you have no control on changing the dates around when you need to be in a certain place. When the choice is made to immigrate to another country a lot of things will get disrupted, however, everything related to immigrating must be first priority.

Your safest bet is to tell them you can't make it. This will allow the bride to plan accordingly.

Upvote for this advice 👍

There is no way to tell for sure and you have to ask yourself, is it worth risking everything for a 2 week trip? To me, after the long ordeal with immigration, throwing it all away now is just not worth it.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I still have no idea and my family really are not happy as it's my brother's wedding...It's just lousy timing I guess. I've waited 7 years for this visa, been away from my family for that long and it just sucks that this is the timing. I doubt my brother will ever forgive me but hopefully time will soften his feelings towards me 😪

Still not had a reply back from the NVC, I think I'll call them tomorrow and ask them what is going on.

Much appreciated from those who replied.

Hi just wondering when did you ended up receiving the notification with your interview date? I don't see your timeline updated but wondering whether the F2A/F2B timeline would have been different from IR-1/CR-1, in which case it may be a lot faster in scheduling interviews. Many thanks for your reply!
