Approved case transferred to local office four years later

Hello, I was able to remove conditions on 3/24/2014 and received my card around 5/5/2014. I was naturalized on 7/5/2017. Now I'm looking at my account today because I was bored and I notice that my very old case has been transferred to my local office on 3/17/2018. What's the purpose of this? Do I have to fear for my status or why are they reviewing my file again? Or is it possible that they recycle case numbers (doubtful)? Has anyone have this happen to them and did you receive anything from the local office?

I don't think you have anything to fear.........I think your status as a US citizen is secure.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Provided that your marriage is legit and everything was great, I don't think you have anything to be concerned about.

However, if that is not the case where your marriage could be questionable, like everything else in USA, USCIS reserves a right to cancel naturalization albeit it must be noted that cancelling naturalization certificate is much more rigorous than cancelling permanent resident status, because the cancellation must be approved by a judge, not USCIS unlike a permanent resident status, where USCIS can cancel permanent resident status by its discretion when there is credible information that may put questions for how he/she obtained a permanent resident status.

So most likely it is glitch, but Trump administration has been expanding what's called Operation Janus to weed out fraudsters who are already naturalized if USCIS discovers information that is discrepant of how he/she obtained natualized certificate.

Theoretically, it is possible that your process has been reviewed by this program if there is reasonable questions for your marriage, and if you are being reviewed under this Operation Janus program, visiting USCIS won't really tell you much because USCIS is obligated to not share any information if you are under this program's radar.

I would reach out to Congress's office and go from there. Again, the chance is most likely it is system glitch, but living in America is as unexpectedly dangerous as living in Afghanistan.

I would guess that they’re running reports against archived information and probably had to move a bunch of old cases to an active status to mine data and then archive them again.  Large databases move information out to an archived location yo bake the rest of it more manageable.  It’s likely more statistical than targeted.

If I remember correctly, there appeared to be a glitch around that time where many who had ROCs in process were receiving a similar message.  With that being the timeframe when ROC processing times slowed to a crawl, a lot of folks were getting excited that anything was happening.  Regardless, as others have said, and I agree, I don't think there is anything to worry about.  My wife still gets nuisance updates about her case, she just deletes them.

You would have received a very different type of notification if you were caught up in this....

Finally done...
