I had a friend send me this link today, maybe some of you are familiar with it.

It was the first time I knew it even existed and after I read some of it a lot of it doesn't sound like the Russian wife friends I have here in my community.

I find it simply amazing the difference in tempo and topics between a forum domintated by men and one dominated by women.

absolutely. i took some of the stuff on that website to be thinly veiled hints at how to catch an american.

I found her plan to have several flaws, in her letter explaining how the "Plan" works its quite interesting.

So, how does ASK NATASHA Service work?

Firstly, I will timely respond on each of your emails and telephone calls during your Membership. I will thoroughly analyze your current correspondence.(Analyze it for what to make sure that you are saying the right things to attract or catch the best one, this sounds like baiting to me) I will ask you to send me letters from previous correspondence, for which you have particular questions. I will ask to provide me with some general information on your Russian friend(s)( she didnt want to use the word prospective wife?), and I interpret it,(again with the analysis, this would lead me to believe that honesty is out the door) taking into consideration major differences in Russian/American life styles (Education, occupation, interests, hobbies, etc). Via telephone and email consultations I advise on how one may better understand the personality and interests of your Russian friend, while you are corresponding, when you are meeting with her in Russia, and after the marriage took place. I will summarize my opinion, highlight areas which may need to be elaborated, and give my outlook in one letter which I will send you as soon as I accumulate enough information regarding your relationship.(this looks like she is going to give you a percentage of success rating like---similar education +25%; similar career goals +25%; desire for children +10; dont like the same colors -5%, age difference modifier -.5% for every year older he is that her etc)

Besides, each Member, is able to use other Services listed on the Membership page.

Lastly, I want to remind you that many of those who correspond via the Internet (both men and women) often keep correspondence with 10 or more people simultaneously, without informing the other.(psst hey left hand dont tell the right hand what im doing it would get mad) It means that you both have to keep your mind open (in case the one you pick doesnt like you enough to move)until you start your Fiance visa process!(love is not important just get the visa and the rest of it will work itself out) After the marriage takes place, the first year will be crucial for your Russian wife’s adjustment.(actually it is crucial for both people to adjust to a new life, I thought marriage was about compromise and teamwork, its not like waiting for a cake to finish in the oven, "Cmon honey its been a year hurry up and finish adjusting!!!") During this period, I will be happy to provide assistance for your new international family in making this adjustment. (as long as your membership is current and your fees are paid in full) Russianwomenabroad.com is a place where your Russian wife can go to intermingle with other Russian women who live abroad, find answers to questions, gain support, find friends, participate in forums, and even obtain legal (like how to get out of the green card marriage some nut job on the internet talked her into) or psychological advice from experts who contribute to russianwomenabroad.com.

Sincerely Yours,

Natasha

This is the kind of stuff that gives Russian/American marriages that mail order impression.

Interesting story, the city Elena and I live in has a big art festival with food and art and performances for 3 days in the middle of downtown. We decided to go and unfortunately got rained out so we headed to this Japanese steakhouse restaurant we wanted to try. We sat next to an older couple who we had a lot of fun talking to, they had been there a lot so they helped in ordering etc. The woman knows a manicurist/pedicurist locally who is Russian, married a man 22 years older than herself and he passed away a few years ago. The woman has been her 8 years and knows a lot of other local russians, I was so happy we chose to go to this restaurant because it now gives my wife an opportunity to meet some other local russians and that is what I have been trying to do. Just thought I would share and take a shot at getting this thread off topic....

So how many of you suckers paid for this service?! Russians are so creative. They make money on everything from visa service to relationship counseling!

I remember a few of the folks who paid to have their emails translated and a guide take them around the city. It always makes me wonder if the "Russian Guide" also held a candle during their first sexual encounter!

If someone can't communicate even at a basic level with their fiancee, it really makes me question the relationship!

When I move to Russia someday, I'm going to open a pizza restaurant. Then, I'm going to moonlight as a "go-between" for international couples that need help "getting to know each other and easing the courtship process."

I figure I'll only charge about 30 USD/hour for this service, translating e-mails, text messages, etc., letter writing, etc., with "personal service" costing a little extra. Guided tours, apartment rentals (with a nice kick-back from the property owner, of course) pick up/drop off from the airport, etc.,, all the standard rip-off services. However, my pizza is going to be cheap.

"And remember, when you use Slim's Services, you get a free slice of pizza with every order."

I hate to say this and perhaps it's more of a statement on the area that we live in, but since my wife's arrival here six months ago, she hasn't managed to make any friends among NYC's Russian/Ukrainian community. She's met scores of women but they all seem to care only about what kind of car she drives, how big our home is, what my job is, etc. It's not really an issue for us since she's made plenty of other friends and quite frankly we've always felt that there's us--and somewhere beyond there's the rest of the world. I'd always known that Russian expats in the US could be an ultra-competitive bunch but still I was surprised as to the extent.

Ok, I'm curious (and can read some Russian on a good day). Please post, should be good for a laugh. I might even translate anything funny enough for all here.
