How are pictures secondary? it clearly shows that the two of you have been physically together.

What one has to remember is that the evidence submitted has to form a picture in the minds eye of the adjudicator. Photos submitted on their own, in many cases will not satisfy the requirement. Some have managed to send only photos with little or no other supporting evidence and been approved, but many have not. Photos can be doctored. Its the strength of your evidence overall that will have the better chance of not receiving an RFE for more evidence. Photos support other primary evidence such as what Kaydee mentioned. Each case is different however and one must look at their evidence within its own circumstances.

Ok, we have his tickets of 5 trips here, we'll submit that (those include boarding passes), we have our passports, with the visas and stamps (his 5 trips here and mine there).

Then we have pics, e-mails and letters.

Other than that, I can think of translating my degree certificate, that states my graduation took place on Jan 14th this year, and then I'm sending a picture of us together, on my graduation, with me wearing the cape, the silly hat and the diploma. I'm not sure if my own translation and statement I'm fluent in english is enough, or if I should write down that I'm submitting my diploma for proof of having met in the past 2 years.

Any other ideas?

Maybe they're getting more strict after the new discussion about immigration in US. Which would be very bad news for us still trying to go through.

Thats exactly what I am referring to by looking at your own individual circumstances. A degree certificate supports the photo of you both with you in your cape, silly hat :P holding your diploma....in turn they both support the flight tickets, boarding passes etc. Its creating the picture. You can document all of that in the declaration of having met.

Maybe they're getting more strict after the new discussion about immigration in US. Which would be very bad news for us still trying to go through.

IMO its more dependant on who is the adjudicator. Some interpret differently to others. Whilst all cases submitted are different, so are adjudicators in how they see things.

So I can supply my certificate? Can it be translated by me?

In his declaration he then should add he was here for my graduation.

Btw, my ava is us on my graduation day. :P

Of course you can supply a copy of your certificate. Anything that supports other evidence and can show you were both in the same place at the same time. Technically it doesn't have to be translated by a certified translator but it could hold more weight having it translated by someone other then yourself. And yes include it in the declaration.

the certificate can be a copy but any translation should be an original with original signature.

*sigh* Maybe I can try sending the forms without this, and if wait for the RFE if it comes, maybe we'll get lucky with what we have, which I think pretty much proves our point, than having to send the translation, 'cus it takes over 2 weeks for the post office to go from here to Puerto Rico, and at least that by Fedex.

Or maybe I can scan the copy and my fiance can print it there and find a translator for portuguese there, which would be A LOT faster. Thanks a lot for the help, I'll talk to Luis and we'll see which would be best.

I was afraid of the dreaded RFE from the start so that motivated me to go beyond what was probably required. Actually, it was probably just right, but anyways...

I sent:

bank statements (highlighted all related transactions)

airline ticket info

photocopies of every single tiny small receipt that I could scrounge up that proved I was there

My phone bill alone would have been evidence enough that I had a "long-distance" relationship going on!!! :o

Plus I sent all the other stuff that doesn't really prove anything except ongoing relationship: emails, handwritten letters(we planned those for this reason), photos together, etc

November 2004--I'm on vacation in Italy and met Gabriela at a pizzeria in Venice...it was love at first sight!

2 Weeks Later 2004--changed my intinerary to go back to Venice and see this Romanian girl that I couldn't stop thinking about.

August 30--My sweetie's Birthday! I love you, doll!!!

September 9, 2005--I-129F sent to NSC.

September 15, 2005--NOA1!

October 24, 2005--NOA2!!

November 07, 2005--NVC letter received!!!

Early December 2005--K1 packet gets to the Consulate in Naples but somehow they forgot about notifying us in any way, and apparently replying to emails is just waaaay too strenuous for them...

January 11, 2006--After numerous failed attempts to contact them, Naples Consulate emails packet3.

January 2006--I contact my state senator's office.

March 20, 2006--Gabi has her medical exam in Naples...

March 21, 2006--Gabi has her interview...K1 VISA ISSUED!!!!!

April 18, 2006--I will fly to Europe to get my honey...and never, ever let her go!!!

Thanks a lot for all your posts. I did send a copy of our passports with the stamps in it...so I guess that is a good thing. And I also send a entrance ticket to a park in germany and we took a picture there as well and we also send in a hotel receipt and had a picture in front of the hotel from both of us...so I hope they will approve as soon, otherwise I will get cazy if I don't hear anything soon...

Good luck for all of the rest of you!!!

I can't wait for the day to be with my honey again and when we are done with all that visa stuff...

What these people at USCIS don´t take in consideration, is that when we start a relationship like this, we´re not usually aware that if this relationship gets serious and we decide to get married, we´ll need all these papers, so it´s not a custom for me to save every receipt from when we were together, only letters, cards and pics, which I find are important memories. Hence why I don´t have a history of hotel records, phone bills, and park entrances, we do have a couple, but some don´t show any dates so, doesn´t prove anything.

Right you are... I can totally relate. I had no idea things would go this way between Gabi and me(well, I had some idea, it was love at first sight!)... it just so happened that I keep reciepts and stuff for photo scrapbooks for all of my trips abroad. I really didn't have very many receipts from Italy, only a handful.... but that's what I had and I made it seem like a lot: I photocopied each one seperately, so when I put together the documents I had 10-12 pages of receipts (well, train tickets have two sides and each side got it's own page ;) same with museum tickets... you get the idea!!).

Good luck!

@Luis&Laura

yes, you are exactly right. We didn;t keep all the receipts when we first met as well...so thats why we don;t have that much prove eather. I lived in the states for 2 years I was an Au Pair there and that's how I got to meet my fiancee. We only have one stamp in our passport when he came to visit me in germany and when I flew back to see him once...But my phonebill should be a really good proof because we talk everyday at least twice on the phone...My fiance doesn;t has a phonebill where the phonenumbers are shown who he calls but mine does, so I hope that will be good enough also for the interview one day...

Oh well hopefully everything will work out for all of us...
