Hey y'all!

So I'm the beneficiary of a CR1 atm, and I read that you had to sign all of the documents prepared with ink.

If so, how does that work? Do I print it, sign it and then send it in?

What if I am abroad? do I print it, sign it, scan it and then send it in?

How does all of the signing work in this?

Thanks for the help. :)

You will have to sign them originally (i.e. you cannot sign them electronically, or use a cursive font, etc.), but as to submitting documents, you can scan them.  So print them out, sign them and then scan them.

Good Luck!

I read that if I live outside of the US I don't have to sign the documents.
Is this true?

She's the beneficiary, so does not need to sign anything related to the I-130 petition.  She doesn't even need to be the one who types or writes the information in the I-130a.  It just needs to be the correct information.

You would read this in the I-130a INSTRUCTIONS.  It's a form, not a document, and if outside the US, you are not required to sign it or to provide a passport style photo.

Agree, I was thinking of a K1 letter of intent.

Thanks.
