I'm sorry - but I just read the fee increases for some of these form and I'm shocked

Am I reading correctly that it will be $1010 for the AOS and $340 for the EAD once we're married? And I assume that will be x 2 because my daughter is 15 and will want to work in the future as well.

Think I'll scale back the wedding plans since I'll need to drop roughly $2700 after the wedding - this is nuts.

Anyone know what they were before....or tell me I'm reading wrong :(

Actually, to clarify...

After July 30th, when you apply for AOS, it's a package deal, the fees cover the AOS, EAD and AP, though you still have to fill out 3 separate applications... it's in the small printing at the bottom of that PDF document.

Scott.

from the link the OP posted...

The new application fee for an I-485 is a package fee that includes associated EAD and advance parole applications. Thus, if you file an I-485 with the fee listed above, while you will still need to submit applications for an EAD and advance parole, you will not need to pay a separate fee so long as your adjustment application is pending. However, if you filed your I-485 before this fee change, to apply for or renew your EAD or advance parole, you must file a new application with the new fee for those applications.

Huh, no kidding.....so I can get my SSN and EAD long before the AOS is complete, but she cannot? It's all clear as mud :) Thanks for the info though.

guess she'll be getting allowance for a few mroe years then

You might as well send in an application for AP and EAD for both you and your daughter since you are paying for it. The fee of $1010 include AOS+EAD+AP

Do I read that correct that I will have to pay $545.00 to remove the conditions (I-751) on my 2 year conditional Permanent Resident to get the 10 year card ??

And then a year later I can apply to become a U.S. citizen (N400) for $675.00.

If this is true they sure hit the K-1's hard don't they. All I can say is smile, pucker up and take it like a man !!

K-1 VISA

AOS / EAD

Yea, we realize it is all a package and you file for all 3 at the same time. It doesn't get any better either. Removing conditions and the like. She is soooooooo worth it though. :D

in my case paying the would be a blessing. weve already spent 1205 bucks in the aos process since we have been stuck in name check for 2.5 years now and who knows how much longer it will take. if i did the math right....325 for aos...170x2 for ap and 180 x3 for ead. and we will have to keep paying these fees until the aos is approved. and guess what...that was the old fees. imagine how much they are going to sock us for when we have to renew at the new rates!!! count ur blessings.
