Hi everyone! I need help filling out the I129f. I have all the info that I need but I didn't realize the form is hard to fill out.

  1. Part 8 Additional Information - Is it okay to combine answers to the same question in the one space? For example, can I put all of my previous addresses (prev. address 4, 5, 6) on the first space (3a - 3d) or do I have to use the first space (3a - 3d) for the prev. address 4, the second space (4a - 4d) for prev. address 5 and so on? Also, how do I fill out 3c - Item Number? Do I put 9a-12b? For 3d, do I have to specify each line: 9.a. Street Number and Name, 9.b... or do I just my address straight: 1 Street, City, State, Zip Code, Country?
  2. Item 27a - 36b - Parent's Info - Mother's Maiden Name or Married Name?
  3. Part 1, Item 27a - 36b -  Parent's Address - There's no space for state only city: do I put Portland or Portland, ME?
  4. Part 2, Item 12a - 15b - Beneficiary's Address - Question #1- My fiancees address is really long, the street and subdivision names don't fit. What to do? Question #2 (49a - 50f) Native Language - Do we just leave it blank or put N/A since it's already in English? Or Do we put the same address from the other section anyway?
  5. Item 38a - 38h - Beneficiary has never been to the U.S., do I still put the passport info for 38e, g, h?
  6. Part 3, Item 5a - 5d - Multiple Filer Waiver - This is my first filing, do I check "5.d. Not applicable. Beneficiary is my spouse or I am not a multiple filer"? Or do I skip this question?
  7. Do I have to put N/A for all the interpreter/preparer questions?

Thanks in advance!

1.  When you run out of space there is a section at the END of the form for additional space.     Read the instructions more than once   https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf?download=1

2.  The old form stated maiden name (I see they forgot that with this one).    USCIS wants to keep you confused.     I would use maiden name.

3.   Only list what is asked.    Never DO-DO when DO will DO

4.  If it doesn't all fit ... USE the section at the end of the form.  💡

5.  READ THE QUESTION SLOWER....   "IF yes ... then complete 38a - 38h" ... so the answer to your passport question is   NO.

6.   that is sort of a DUH ...   last part of 5d ... " I am not a multiple filer. "    SLOW  DOWN AND READ.

7.  READ THE INSTRUCTIONS   https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf?download=1     bottom of page 2

Thanks @Hank_.

1. I know that there is space at the end but I am not sure how to fill it out. ex. If I should put all of my previous addresses in one section or separate them. And which Item Number to put? All the numbers for the section, 9.a. - 12.b.?

4. What doesn't fit is her current address. I can only fit the street number and name not the subdivision name. Do I leave the current address blank or continue it Part 8 Additional Information (extra space at the end)?

5. I have seen on VJ that some people still put passport information in spite of their answer being "no".

Thanks.

1.   Use the space provided, use additional at end of the form for additional.    😕

4.   Complete what you can in the space in the form .. I would list it completely, again, in the additional space    (not that at matters too much, you could list a "general address"  ;)  )

5.     Yes some people do add information that isn't required .. because they DON'T READ the instructions ...

Never DO-DO when DO will DO!!   It is that simple.

Thanks @Hank_ and @Falcon Cara. Also, my fiance has been estranged from her mother for 2 decades now. She doesn't know where her mother currently resides, is it okay to put 'unknown'. None of her relatives also know her location. How do you guys think we should answer the question? Thanks.

Can I also use my number for the contact number they're asking for in the where you beneficiary intends to live?

If your mobile phone is the phone number where you live, and your fiancee is going to live there also ..  makes sense that would be the phone number to list.

To TxBill, my thoughts to you is to use this whole forum as a resource. Most of the questions you asked or may ask will be found somewhere on this website. If you do your due diligence, you will come out of the I-129F process unscathed. But remember that you are only human and that errors are a part of life. Take your time, learn from others here, and you will come out on the other end feeling, (somewhat), stress free!

Good luck!
