Hi all

I just get my us citizenship one quick question about the children. Can i request my son's passport (through my US citizenship) and my first passport at the same appointment OR I need to do it separately? Not sure if both requests that need the citizenship certificate can be done in parallel.

Thanks

You can do it together: https://tools.usps.com/rcas.htm

Contact the National Passport Information Centerhttps://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/contact-us/passports.html They're still open right now and they're open tomorrow.

Hi TopGear77, how did your passport application go? I just submitted mine last Friday along with my child's. They reluctantly accepted it (as they're just an intake office for DOS). I am anxious if it would be accepted and processed and delivered (along with my originals) correctly and in a timely manner.

Did you get it?

They told you to not apply at the same time? Now I’m a bit worried - the lady at our post office (who certainly seemed to know what she was doing) did both mine & my kid’s at the same time, though they did go in separate packages with separate checks - she put a copy of my naturalization certificate and the kids green card in, along with kid’s birth certificate and our marriage certificate. Both my husband and I had to be at the appointment and sign the application. I do know of others locally who have applied for both at the same time and been fine though. So also curious to hear how @Deanne81‘s experience went.

Top gear and Susie--

I applied for my and my son's passports at the same time. Got mine after 2 weeks, and then a followup letter from the visa office asking for a ton of supplemental documents for my son's visa processing. I got his passport eventually, and all pertinent documents were returned.

@Deanne81, thanks. Can you give some indication of the supplemental documents they asked for?

Evidence of physical and legal custody, only applies to single parent applications.

Oh, ok. I had brought that with actually (well evidence of physical custody, legal was obvious with both parents married and present) and the passport officer said it wasn’t needed.
