I will give you my now wifes personal recent experience with Ciudad Juarez. I too only sent a copy of my passport with I129F as my proof of citizenship. When my now wife went for her interview, I sent her in with a certified copy of my birth certificate to take with her, just in case. I didnt think they'd ask for it since we sent a copy of my passport. But guess what, the official asked her for my certified birth certificate. Luckily my now wife had it and gave it to them and everything was okay. They took a photocopy of it and gave her my original back. My best advice to you is to take a certified copy like you said. Send with her everything you think. You just never know! Its up to the officials discretion on what he asks.

Quick question....   I have seen on other forums that we are supposed to include copies of ALL pages of our passport which I did not.  According to https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf, 3E states " A copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport or passport card issued with a validity period of at least five years; "  I don't see this reference to ALL pages.  Is this an old requirement?

The previous version of the instructions stated "all pages" when using as citizenship evidence.  The new instructions do not make note to include copies of all pages

I honestly dont know the answer to this, but we did use a copy of all pages, but in all reality you should be okay with just the bio-graphic page. The other pages dont really serve a purpose, unless showing as evidence, what i mean by that is the stamps you get when you traveled to see her in the last 2 years. You will be fine. No worries my friend. Any more questions just ask. We had a long stay in Juarez, which was completely out of our control. Consulate lost her K1 Visa. Haha, I can laugh about it now!

I have a follow up question for you.... On another forum, there was a discussion of people getting RFE's due to using their passport as proof of citizenship as opposed to their birth certificate....  Have you heard of such an issue?

Don't worry you will still have the opportunity to flash your original documents, at the AOS interview.

At our AOS interview, I was asked by the IO to show him my original divorce decree. I had submitted a copy of it when I submitted my I-129F

YMMV,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

True.  They want to eyeball allll of the originals at AOS

Nope I have not heard that, in fact the passport is listed by USCIS as a document that can be used to prove citizenship ( you have to be a citizen of a country to obtain its passport)

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

This from the I-129F instructions sheet:

 For additional information on required documentation, see the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov/I-129F or refer to the regulations in 8 CFR 214.2(k) that governs petitions for nonimmigrant alien fiancé(e)s and spouses. 3. Evidence of U.S. citizenship which may include any of the following:

A. A copy of your birth certificate issued by a U.S. civil authority;

B. A copy of your original Certificate of Naturalization;

C. A copy of your original Certificate of Citizenship;

D. A copy of your Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States;

E. A copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport or passport card issued with a validity period of at least five years; or

F. A statement executed by a U.S. consular officer certifying that you are a U.S. citizen and the bearer of a currently valid U.S. passport.

Don't say NEVER .. as it was required to submit a copy of all pages of the passport at one time.

I know for fact the I-129F instructions dated 11/23/10, page 2 specifically stated ALL pages.    Passport card was not accepted at that time.

Doesn't state that now either.  But it DID.    You just can't state - it NEVER was a requirement ....  ;)

Next revision USCIS could add "all pages" back into the instructions again.

Than man with the gold makes the rules. So if it is all pages, then send all pages. If it is one page and it is specified then produced the specific document that is asked for. You can't makes this stuff up. :D
