After I-130 approval, DS-260 deadline

My PD is April 2018, After I-130 approval and NVC requires us to submit DS-260, is there a deadline for submitting form ds-260?

We still have a couple of things to take care of before going to the US, so I dont want to rush it and want to delay it a bit till we're ready. My I-130 is still not approved, just planning ahead of it.

And any advice you can give if you were in the same shoes.

Thanks

What category? Priority date is usually more important than petition approval.

But the answer is, within one year of a visa number becoming available.

Ok. Be aware that if you don’t have an interview scheduled, when f2a goes back to current by priority dates from all current you’ll revert to whatever your place in line according to PD is.

Are you a child at any risk of aging out?

Can you please explain it a bit more, I didn't quite get it.

It's actually a petition for my wife. She is out side the US. Btw thank you for replying!

Sigh. So “my” actually means “her”? You make it sound like you are also outside the US when you talk about “we”? But anyway, Ok, well, it’s just unusual for spouses to try delay moving over so I assumed it was a child. Normally spouses try to get there faster to reunite, not delay things.

F2A right now has interviews available for all priority dates (for approved petitions). After the end of the fiscal year (September),  it is expected to revert to the usual of having to wait for priority dates to be available. She will have up to a year from when her priority date is current to submit a DSS260. It’s hard to tell right now but under a normal path her priority date would probably be current around 2 years after petition submitted, so maybe April 2020, give or take a few months.  Do you think she will still need more time after that before she is ready to join you?

F2A is on Current status right now so when her petition gets approved, she'll have to wait for NVC to send the welcome letter. She can then file the application for visa, the DS-260, and she has 1 year to submit it given that her PD is available. Correct?

I guess it would be better if we file it right away after we get the welcome letter due to the "Current" status for F2A, as the status might change and we might have to wait longer. Is it possible to revert back to 2017?

Filed: F-2A Visa Country: Philippines

F2A will not be current forever. It can easily revert back on the next visa bulletin.
