Hi my name is susan i file for my husband he lives in ghana he went for his interview on march 28. 2019 and he forget some of his required documents then later submit them but the embassy has his passport does anyone know how long before they will issue his visa its being 4 months now that we are waiting to hear from them i email the embassy they say the case is being review by the consolate can anyone give an answer we are desperate for answers.thank you

What does the online status indicate?  It could be a case of extended administrative processing.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yea it says administrative processing can you explain what does that mean and how long does that take and thanks for responding

Administrative process is a requirement for visas .  It can not be waived or expedited.  It can be hours, days, weeks, months, or years (rarely).   Unfortunately, there is really not much you can do other than wait.  Hopefully, the status will change to "issued" soon.
