Oh gosh!!!  That’s so annoying. I don’t know why ours seems to take longer than all of yours!

I didn’t mention our change of address. We have contact with the people who moved into our flat and they said they’d let us know as soon as it arrives. I didn’t know if it was worth changing it since it was all forwarded from the USCIS office to the embassy in London. I didn’t want that to make things take longer.

Well wait it out this week because the NOA2 did eventually turn up after I sent them the email asking about where it was.

I’d probably mention in the next email that the reason you’re asking is that you’ve since moved.

I reckon they might have normal instructions not to look up numbers within X weeks, so as not to set precedent. Changing address, however, as was the case for you, seems like a valid reason though. That’s why I mentioned it above as well.

Let’s hope the new tenants receive the letter soon! Then you get the chance to suffer through the horrible crashing DS-260 website too! 😉

Ah, no, mine wasn't. But L&I got theirs in already, and theirs was the 29th.

Did you mention the move and updating the information as well? Waiting 8 weeks seems pretty silly if the letter is never going to reach you regardless.

Yes we had an August 29th NOA2 date. My husband emailed the IV unit to confirm they had the correct address on file as he had moved since we filed the I-130 also. They wrote back immediately confirming the address they had and that was it. I would definitely message them again to ask them to confirm the address, it can't do any harm! Good luck!! Oh and yeah the 260 is an absolute nightmare!!!!

My husband is on the website to schedule his interview and there’s a really weird question.

When he is filling out the questions about me. It asks....Is your spouse immigrating to the US with you?

By immigrating, do they just mean am I moving to the states with him?  I’m a us citizen so I’m not technically immigrating am I?  So do we put yes or no?

Because if he says no it asks if I’m immigrating at a later date. And I’m already here in the US.

In my case we’ll be moving together, so we put down yes.

I guess in your case it would be no, since you’ve already returned?
In the section for the petitioner, did you put your US address for you?

Yes we put my US address.

Then it should be fine to put no, and that you’re not immigrating later—you’re already there.

Omg. You guys weren’t kidding about that website crashing. Holy moly. My husband has been doing it for almost 3 hours and still hasn’t finished. And it keeps crashing after he’s inputted all the long stuff like addresses and past work employment. I feel so bad.

It took me hours too! I found the best technique in the end was to enter one address/previous employer at a time and save after each one. You would have to put the wrong dates in but then amend as you enter the next address etc It’s a total nightmare!!

Yeah, same. I just saved after every entry. That got me through in the end. With lots of amending for dates!

After the interview do you guys know how long it takes to get the passport back with the visa in it?

I got mine back in 4 working days. The email notifications from the courier went into my junk email so I wasn’t expecting it!

Hi everyone,

I came across this thread and so glad I did!

hope your applications are going well!

i am an American Citizen in the UK and I also hold British Citizenship.

My husband and I have recently decided to relocate to the States and until today I thought the only option was to apply via the US route through their offices.
I am glad to see that can be avoided as the processing times are shocking!

My only question is about the proving the marriage part, although we’ve been married for 3 years in July, I’ve kept all of my documents addressed at my mom’s house because we intended on buying a house within a year of the wedding but that didn’t happen. We have been living with his parents since Oct 2017 and I have not registered anything here just because the intent was to buy our own house and prevent the hassle of changing everything twice in such a short period.

which is why I won’t be able to show us having a lease/mortgage in joint names or even us being registered at the same address. Has anyone got any ideas of how to overcome this? My husband has given me a bank card that’s linked to his and I have all of my deliveries sent to his parents as I live there and other bits I suppose but nothing substantial. We have been on a few vacations together, including to the states and I changed my last name as soon as we got married so I can prove in other regards the marriage is real and we do live together. Any help would be great.

we have a pre booked vacation to the States next month so wondering whether to hold off applying until after we come back but I’m worried about the London office closing? He has an ESTA and a well paid and secure job here so there’s no reason to stay in the States before his application is approved.

I am studying for the US bar so I don’t work at the moment- are there any other routes to fulfill the financial obligation aspect required?

Lastly- I see there is some residency issue in which you need to show you are domiciled in the States? I don’t understand as I am currently here and thus looking to go back.... could I get an idea of what documents I need to show and gather so this goes smoothly.

thank you so much and apologies for my long message!

Our I-130 is approved and were holding off until our 2-year anniversary; we’ve been travelling solo or together throughout the process on ESTA without any issues.

I wouldn’t worry at all about travelling.
