Where does your AOS package get sent after you file?

I live in San Diego so after the AOS package gets sent to CA USCIS office in Laguna Nigel, what happens next? Does an officer make a decision on our package and EAD there and then sends it to San Diego to schedule the interview? Or the Laguna Nigel office is like a sorting center and they send everything to San Diego to deal with ? Which office would approve the EAD in this situation?

Does the AOS package get split up (we are filing ALL the forms I130, I130A, I485, Affidavit of support and EAD request together in one package) and different offices (in different locations) take care of different decisions pertaining to all the forms?

THank you!

I thought if you live in California you send your AOS package to teh CA service center.

AOS packages all get sent to Chicago Lockbox where they get sent to Missouri Service Center (MSC). EAD/AP stay in Missouri and go to the National Benefits Center (EAD/AP) and AOS goes to your local office after processing (not to be confused with service center).

This is the address to send it to:

https://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses

and here is how you find your local office where your AOS will be sent for interview:

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

I suggest doing a few hours of research at least before sending anything off. I'm assuming you're coming from K1 since you mentioned all going to CSC, but this is a whole different process.

Currently the EAD/AP processing is taking up to 8 months.  You can look up AOS processing times for your local field office on the USCIS site.

Can't assume k1 since his initial post references an i130

YMMV
