I had a case for shoplifting under $100 back in 2013 which was deferred. Do I have to provide court documents or just an explanation of the case? The way I understand the question is that I only need to provide court documents if it were a protection/restraining order situation. What do I need to provide in this section for my personal shoplifting situation?

The instructions state this:

 

If you were ever arrested or convicted of any of the specified crimes, you must submit certified copies of all court and police records showing the charges and disposition for every arrest or conviction. You must do so even if your records were sealed, expunged, or otherwise cleared, and regardless of whether anyone, including a judge, law enforcement officer, or attorney, informed you that you no longer have a criminal record.

 

So I would provide what they are asking for (bold text).

Right, it says "if you were ever arrested or convicted of any of the specified crimes" shoplifting is not included in the "specified crimes" that's why I asked the question I did. Just to be safe and include court documents, what exactly would I ask for and would I obtain that information from the court house?

Now, you may not fall under 3a but 4a is a yes. You were chatged by sounds of it for breaking a law in your country (asks for any) 4.b asks to provide details pertaining to this.

 

 

The best details i think you could provide are the court documents.

12/13/2019: RFE (birth certificate)
