Japanese [...] iceberg

A white guy goes into a New York City bar and sits next to an East Asian guy.  All of a sudden, he punches the Asian guy in the jaw, knocking him off his bar stool.

"What was that for?!" asks the Asian guy, rubbing his jaw.

"That's for Pearl Harbor!" growls the white guy.

"But that was the Japanese, and I'm Chinese!" says the Asian guy.

"Japanese, Chinese, Korean -- it's all the same to me!" exclaims the white guy.

They return to drinking.  After some minutes, the Asian guy hauls off and punches the white guy, knocking him off his bar stool.

"What was that for?!" asks the white guy, rubbing his jaw.

"That's for the Titanic!" says the Asian guy.

"But that was an iceberg, and I'm Jewish!" says the white guy.

"Iceberg, Greenberg, Goldberg -- it's all the same to me!"

The Sooner The Squad Are In Charge Of The Free World, The Better For The Rest Of Us

Point proven.

I love the stories in HuffPo, so enlightening.  I am still wondering how Tweets about unnamed Congress folks that also never mention race are immediately labeled racist.  Considering “The Squad” has also labeled Nancy Pelosi racist, I guess they have all sides covered.

"The President won this one," said another House Democratic lawmaker of the showdown. "What the President has done is politically brilliant. Pelosi was trying to marginalize these folks, and the President has now identified the entire party with them."

It was also very obvious, if we saw it how come these full time politico's were blindsided?

For example, sharia law has ZERO place in America.

Why should a congresswoman go to a country she is not a citizen of to go and fix problems? Isn't her job to fix problems here? I know that Ilhan Omar was originally from Somalia, but she doesn't have a duty to try to work for change in what is ABSOLUTELY a broken nation there. I suppose someone could say that morally she would do well to try to fix the disasters there, but she works for her constituents in Minnesota, not for Somalians. And the other three? They are Americans born in America like me. I have no duty to go back to France and fix what's wrong there. Each of these women does have a duty to work to make things better here. As a citizen, I think I have a duty to do the same thing, but on a smaller level by voting, making charitable contributions and volunteering. :star: These are genuine questions I have for "the other side" (I try not to think about there being "sides" so much as different viewpoints, and getting to talk about these different viewpoints with the volume turned down I think is useful for us all trying to make bridges and connections right now).

Maybe I'm missing something, but are any of the congresswomen pushing for sharia law here? I think I missed that...

Ilhan was married under Sharia Law it seems and may have married her Brother, less clear.

As was mentioned earlier none of the Media seemed to ask for clarification as I assume all of us agree that bit does not make much sense. So how can anybody explain it?

You know the left wing media is not going to question the possibility of her helping someone fraudulently gain immigration benefits.

Let's just back up on the flow of the discussion, someone says "For example, sharia law has ZERO place in America."  (err no one says we should implement sharia law - this is a red herring, and strawman)

then it was asked "Maybe I'm missing something, but are any of the congresswomen pushing for sharia law here? I think I missed that... "

and then a non-sequitor "Ilhan was married under Sharia Law it seems"

Surprising on an immigration forum, someone wanted to point out people of Islamic faith (or who associate with Islam), got married under "Sharia Law". Who would have thought????????????????????????????? Can you imagine if Christians suddenly sought an Imam or a Rabbi to conduct a Christian marriage ceremony..

Or those that practices Judaism, suddenly finds a Catholic priest for their ceremony....

What I can say is those who were so adamant of opposing the so called "sharia law", has no idea what it is at all apparently.

And back to the topic, how is the chant "Send them back" not considered racist and who would still believe Trump meant "back to their districts" even in this thread we can see someone believed what Trump really meant by his tweets.

You can see how the fallacy starts

"Rather than them trying to bring the BS of their countries here, they should go there and fix THOSE problems.

For example, sharia law has ZERO place in America."

Those congresswomen are US citizens, but hey, if you believe in the "chants" that Trump helped fostering, then we know how you feel about your fellow americans.

She's come out and directly addressed and denied this in the past, more than once, to make it clearer.

Considering she immigrated to the US when she was around 12 years old along with her other siblings, and becoming a naturalized citizen at age 17 (through her father),  I find it doubtful she'd all of a sudden have another sibling crop up out of nowhere....if this guy was actually her "brother" as some people claim---I would question why wouldn't he have immigrated with her and rest of the siblings back then?  The man in question is 3 years older than Ilhan, which would have put him at age 15 when she and her siblings immigrated.  Doesn't make sense that she and all but one of her siblings (a 15 year old) immigrated together?  So they (the siblings/parents) sought asylum/refugee status and left their 15 year old behind by himself?

Well Sharia Law has some rather unpleasant connotations if you are for example LGBQTI+

I have no idea exactly what he meant so can not answer that, but going back to the title of this thread the similar question arises with Kamala.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

That is what I thought initially and then started reading about her history sometime ago and there seems to be a lot of questions and very few answers, she seems very unwilling to go there, you would have thought it would be very easy to quash it. Bit like Trump and his taxes?
