Did I submit DS-160 too early?

Hi all,

Our k1 visa application recently got passed from the NVC to the consulate in UK. After I got notification from NVC, I looked at the instructions to take and was under the impression I could submit the DS-160. I did that but afterwards I looked at the instructions and was told by NVC that I should wait for the consulate to contact me when they receive my application. Is that correct? Will there be any problem that I submitted the DS-160 before the consulate received my application?

Also, I wanted to ask how the embassy will contact me. Will it be via email, letter or both?

I'm pretty sure the embassy has received my application now as I was tracking it on the DHL website. Is there anything I can do in the meantime, or should I just wait?

Thanks! :)

Actually, I just checked and it got updated today saying:

Ready
Immigrant Visa Case Number:
Case Created: 24-Jun-2019
Case Last Updated: 17-Jul-2019

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://nvc.state.gov/interview
For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

I haven't received anything from the embassy yet though. Can I schedule for my interview and medical now? Will it be a problem that I already submitted the DS-160 when the status was 'In Transit'?

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community that comes behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

I don't dig deep within embassy's processes unless its deemed important for the dissemination of the information to allow me to be accurate. I refer your question to your subforum members.
