Do I still have to maintain my status??

Hlw everyone 

I’m f1 at the moment. I got EAD recently through marriage with green card holder. If I start working my f1 visa will be violated. So I heard I have to maintain my status until I give interview because I’m married to green card holder. Is it true if I start working now with EAD will create problem for me during interview?

On a second thought, as long as you were in F1 status till AOS was filed, with pending AOS, you are in a legal allowed stay period even without F1 status so using EAD, though violates F1, you should still be good for GC, status-wise.

Your EAD allows you to work legally. However, once you use it, you are not in the F-1 status anymore, so in the unlucky case  AOS is not approved you will be out of status.

Have you spoken with your international student office? Go with what they say as they are the ones managing your legal presence.
