Trump Troll Level:  Grand Master

Trump’s “racist” tweets cement the Democrats’ congressional leadership to its least-viable radical fringe.

I’ll admit something I shouldn’t have to, as regular readers of this space already know it, but I’m sometimes a little slow to catch on to the ways of America’s 45th president.

After all, back in the 2016 GOP primary cycle I was a Ted Cruz guy. Cruz was the most aggressive conservative playing within the bounds of “acceptable” politics, and I figured that was the best chance to stop the nation’s cultural and political rot and correct the ship of state’s dangerous list to the left.

But along came Donald Trump, who [...]

Interesting take.  I know most politicos inside the Beltway don't think President Trump has the intelligence, but this hypothesis by Mr. McKay could be spot on.  Heck, Queen Nancy and her House became a circus yesterday, Trump is really affecting them!

So what did you think about the impeachment vote today, and did you catch any of the rally tonight?

President Trump was quite funny tonight when he laid into the Left and the MSM. He was talking about how "one week they are calling me dumb as bricks, then the next week they are say I am behind a sinister plot to tear down our democracy" .

Heard nowhere near enough of it.  Of what I did hear, the Pres. was having a blast and playing them like fiddles.

Did not catch it live, but did hear excerpts from it.  Also, the impeachment vote was a joke, but Trump is definitely having an impact on maneuvering the Dems.  It is fun to watch.

Another bit of news that is not getting a lot of play.  Another investigation ended with no indictments.

I read the New York Times article you linked to, and right underneath that big headline it says

But it is unclear if prosecutors plan to file additional charges in the case, which led to the conviction of Michael D. Cohen, the president’s former lawyer.

And then it goes on to say that while the judge is saying the investigation is over according to the prosecutors, that doesn't mean that other charges couldn't be brought later in the same case. So to me (I'm no legal brain, but I do like to pay attention to the news, and my best friend is a lawyer) it looks like it doesn't necessarily mean nothing else is going to come out of the investigation, even though it is closed. I don't trust what the lawyers for either Michael Cohen or President Trump have to say about this, because they are trying to protect their clients so of course they are going to say things that make their guys look better. So I'm keeping an open mind and an open eye to see what happens next. :)

Os in one breathe, it is over, and in the next there is more to come?  Of course the biased media has to do whatever it can to keep hope alive.  I wonder, when Hillary was exonerated by the head of the FBI (James Comey), did the NYTimes opine of future charges?

Well, it looks like there are no further charges to be brought after all: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/18/nyregion/stormy-daniels-michael-cohen-documents.html

Personally, I like to wait to hear how these things play out when it looks like there are ambiguities. And it certainly looked like there were ambiguities in the earlier article. Since everyone is trying to be the first with breaking news, when the truth isn't clear yet but is still developing, stating that there are unclear things outstanding is important, so that they can be cleared up later. And here it looks like it was cleaned up. I don't see things as black or white, and I don't trust people or organizations that try to sell me a story as all one thing or another.

I don't like to play the "well, this is what happened with Hillary" game because I think (1) there are always different facts at play in any two (or more!) situations and (2) pointing at Hillary is really over and tired. It's been three years already!!! I don't know off the top of my head whether James Comey closed the door on future charges, I mean, I *think* I remember that he said that there wasn't enough to go on, but whether the door was closed I don't remember.

Agreed, my point was how the leftist biased media covers a story like this.  Since overall, it is a positive for President Trump, it is certainly not covered extensively.  Heck, WaPo simply reprinted an AP blurb of a few paragraphs.  It is also another example of the double standard from the mainstream media where they push a political narrative even in their news stories that agrees with their own political slant and ignore similar transgressions by the political allies.

Sorry to interrupt your “we love Donald” thread....but can you guys point me to the group that believes “send her back” (about a naturalized citizen and congress woman) is not an “okay” or a “good” political belief..... I can’t seem to find where my people are.....and I would like to find my place......because....you know....I’m kinda terrified right now (two people asked my husband where he was from yesterday because he spoke and I live in the south).

I can’t find the right thread.....so I thought maybe you guys could help me......

Heck, try being a Russian/American in today’s political narrative.  As to the thread you are free to create one, but from what I have seen over the past many years, when someone encounters someone who looks or speaks differently, oftentimes they are asked where they may be from out of pure curiosity.  I for one love learning about other countries and cultures.

Why is that an issue for you????

I am the one usually doing this because I am curious because I have lived in a number of places. So I can usually place an accent and speak the language alittle bit. Which people for the most part are happy that I can do all of that.

I did this today actually in the small city I live in. We were at McDonald's for breakfast (don't judge) when I noticed the lady who looked Hispanic had a Filipino accent. So I asked where she was from and she was like Philippines and I replied back "Talaga po" which in Tagalog means "Really ma'am". He laughed and asked how I knew that and I said "oh my wife is a Filipina" and she ended chatting with my wife during her whole break. So now we can bring her in to our circle of pinoys in smalltown NC.
