Questions about booking medical

Hi all,

I’m reading through the forums and am confused about waiting on the email confirmation from the NVC to take to the medical appointment. I saw someone saying they actually needed the physical letter from the embassy, and others saying the email confirmation is enough. Can people who have had their medical recently confirm what they showed as proof of their case number?

Also my fiancé is taking a bus into London from SW England and wants to know if he can just walk from Victoria coach station to the medical centre, and how long it may take?

Hi Mimiso. I just had my medical today and I just showed a print out of the email from USCIS with the interview date and Case Number on it. I wasn't asked for any physical letter.

Victoria coach station is about a 25 minutes (on foot) from Knightsbridge. I'd suggest getting the Victoria tube (just opposite to the coach station) to Oxford circus. It's a 10 minute walk from there.

Hope this helps.

Agreed on taking the Victoria Line, or an Uber or black cab. I put the walk at more like 40 minutes than 25, unless Knightsbridge has moved from Bentinck Mansions since I had my medical in 2010. I doubt he would like to arrive at the medical sweaty -- my friends back in London tell me it has been a warmer summer than usual -- but it is rather a nice walk through Green Park, once you get away from the nightmare that is Victoria.

'Estimate' or 'wishful thinking'! I've been living in the Los Angeles area for almost 9 years, hardly a place known for sane drivers or respectable travel times, but still less painful than driving in Central London. (I have a particularly traumatic recollection of trying to drive from Westminster to Moorgate, still attempting to strike the memory.) Walking could be a saner option depending on traffic.

I would suggest that walking or tube are the only ways to go. Cabs get stuck in traffic, as do the buses. I have had them take longer than foot power.

You're going to wait at Knightsbridge regardless. As long as you arrive morning, and the appointment is afternoon then don't sweat and take your time.
