Has anyone heard from NVC yet? Just trying to gauge how long will it take to get first communication from them. My petitions were approved by USCIS 02/13, and looking at NVC time-frames they are past that date. So I don't get why we still haven't heard from them, it has been over a month.

I am July 2019 filer, both of my parents' cases got approved today. It took Texas Center 220 days to make a decision.

Does anyone know if I am supposed to get notified by NVC via email or mail?

What to expect down the road? I know I need to upload a bunch of documents, I-864 and pay some fees. But I don't get how will I or my parents get communicated about the next steps?

You should receive a letter and an email with account information to login to ceac website.

Submitted all documents for my mom to ceac 2 weeks ago, waiting for them to be reviewed as well. If you don’t mind me asking, have you looked for any health insurance policies for your mom?

I have looked at a few. But havent decided yet. My mom is 58 so am not too worried about her health. will just pick up something temporary if the visa process insists on it.

My mom is 61, I looked into 6 to 12-month temp insurance policies - they start around $200 and up to have something as soon as she gets here, but not sure if it’s good enough for the interview.

I haven't been following the latest policy guidelines. Are you parents required to get insurance in order get their green cards or just that they are getting insurance in general?

She is not “required” per se, but with the new public charge ruling effective as of Feb 24, 2020 it became much stricter and more application will be denied. Just to be on the safe side it’s good to have policy already selected to show at the interview. However, I haven’t found any recent interview experiences after the new rule was put in place.

To clarify, I have to have insurance for them paid for and ready by the time they go into the interviews?

I'm guessing with COVID these interviews won't happen for a while.
