The last I-130 approval for Texas was yesterday on the 29th. Hang in there! They haven't stopped yet. ;) I've also noticed that they don't really seem to follow the PD dates when it comes to approvals. You guys are right in the middle of the approvals though!

Hi Guys, I got and RFE today.
Potomac Service Center

Date submitted July 5, 2019

At least you know there is activity on your account and as long as you can provide the evidence required you can keep moving along...

How did they notify you? Email, text, app or mail?

It’s actually bad.
I don't know what to do.
They didn’t not notify me, I have been checking my case nonstop and I noticed they went in there again today and I figured they were gonna make a decision. Later I noticed they uploaded the RFE that they will be mailing.

They are requesting wedding pictures, which I don’t have. Because we didn’t have a traditional wedding, we couldn’t afford it. We went to The court  house and got married.

Anybody knows how to approach this????

Sorry to hear about the complications. I don’t know how you could provide something you don’t have. But, at this point, I would provide all pictures that you do have, family outings, couples pictures, holidays, birthdays and call the officer that requested the RFE explain your story and provide an alternative. Good luck ..

That’s fine. I’m sure there are plenty of people who apply for I130s who did not have a “traditional wedding”.

We had a simple civil ceremony as well and we just included a few pictures from that. In addition, we included photos of us throughout the years like when we went on vacations together, when we got engaged etc. Just supplement your file with lots of other photos that establishes a clear timeline/validity of your relationship.

We hired an immigration lawyer for this process so I’m certain that a lack of “traditional wedding” photos is not a reasonable ground for denying your petition.

Best of luck to you! I also have my fingers crossed for an NOA2 soon but we filed in September. Counting down the days...

Thank you for the suggestion.

I never thought in a million years I was gonna get an RFE considering the package I sent in. I included; Photos when we were dating, photos when he proposed, vacations photos/bookings, photos with family members, flight tickets, call logs, messages, conversation not just ours but even family member with one another, affidavits, receipts.

I will have to look into hiring an attorney as well and have this done "professionally".

That’s crazy that you got a RFE despite having all that evidence.

Do you have any photos of you two at the courthouse? I’m sure that would work too. All we sent was us at our civil ceremony with family, us with our civil celebrant, us signing our marriage certificates as well as a party that we had with friends the night of.

We also sent in things like evidence of cohabitation (leases), marriage certificate obviously but along with apostille certification, social media screenshots with time stamps of important events like when we graduated together from university, when we got engaged, vacations throughout the years.

But I would recommend hiring an attorney, it definitely eliminates a lot of the stress knowing that there’s always someone there to answer your questions or to help you with application preparation when you need it.

Again, best of luck! I’m sure your application will be approved in no time once you send in some photos of you two at the courthouse or provide some further clarifications.

July 29th?! They are almost on the August people and my PD is July 15th! How does this make any sense? What's the point of the PD? My last update was January 6, nearly a month ago now. It's one thing for a service center to have really long wait times, but it's another to see them servicing other applications that came in weeks AFTER yours, when supposedly they "respect the order."

Two different kinds of frustration, but frustration none the less. The waiting game is the worst! 😩😩 At least it's Friday!
