The Lonestar state certainly appears to be the only star at the moment. 😅

Made an account because this thread was giving me hope lol, and I thought I owed everyone else the same.

Applied for I-130 on July 23rd, received by USCIS on July 30th. Went to Texas centre. First part approved January 15th, hooray :).

I literally just saw it 5 minutes ago lol.

Surprisingly I didn’t receive a email or anything :/, I was using the app and saw it.

Im not in America atm (on vacation) but what would be the next step?

Congratulations!

No afraid not, we’re still waiting. Our i130 pd is July 9th and applied for 129f August 16th.... no movement on either still.

I seriously can’t wait for them to start processing all the IOEs that have basically been trapped in this odd waiting game. I just want a little hope lol. I haven’t seen anything on FB either. Oh well...and thank you for your response!

I’m happy for everyone who’s getting their fast approval in Texas and slowly Potomac, but it’s so hard seeing people with the exact same PD as us getting approved and knowing we are stuck and still waiting for who knows how long because we were unlucky with Nebraska and now unlucky with them not processing the k3 applications like they were either.

I know we will all get there eventually, it’s just hard waiting longer

EXACTLY! This is what I have been saying. The other day when I saw Texas approving cases with the same PD as me I almost threw up. I was a complete wreck. I’m still recovering, but the depression is definitely settling in. I’ve tried my congresswoman and she said there was nothing she could do after she contacted them. They just said they were backed up and moving tons of cases to other service centers.. I’m just not one of them. She said my best chances are waiting for the 129F to be processed before my I-130, but IOEs don’t really have a timeline for that. We have no idea where we stand. Sorry for the rant, but I’m honestly overwhelmed at this point.

When did you apply for the 129f?

Based on the 7.5-9.5 month processing times stated, at the earliest we may hear something is March..... if it helps to cut just a few months off the year at Nebraska it’s at least something 🤞🏻

But I totally get exactly how you’re feeling too. So just reassuring you, you’re not alone in this journey!

My case was just updated today. From September 10 2019 to jan 10 2020. What does this actually mean?

Same here - my case was updated from September 5th to January 10th. I've been checking every day for another update. Nothing so far but hopefully soon.

Even though I know we're lucky to have got one of the "faster" service centres, this process is certainly a real test of patience and resilience. I feel in a constant state of "limbo", always going back and forth between wanting to get all my documents ready for the NVC, to wanting to pack my house up, to thinking about how I'm going to finish working, and all that stressful stuff about moving, while constantly having to remind myself to be patient and wait out the process and just let things happen as they go because it could take the remainder of the year to even get to those other stages. I know so many people do this, and we're all going through the same, but I don't even know where to start with "getting ready" when we're still stuck waiting on approval.

It's such a weird mental place to be in, on top of the daily stress and anxiety of being apart from one another. Luckily my wife is coming here to visit in a few weeks, but even this makes me anxious about yet another dreaded goodbye until the next visit while we wait, if border patrol will let me in with this pending petition... it's such a strain, every fibre in my body just can't wait for the relief of all this being behind us.

I will like to apply for a US tourist visa to visit my wife in the US since it looks like its gonna be a long waiting process. Have anyone here applied for a US tourist visa or traveled to visit their partner in the US?

Did it in September for 3 weeks on ESTA after filing in July and it was absolutely fine.

Considering doing it again, but the anxiety of crossing the border with a CR-1 in progress is too real even though I've done it once fine before. But I visited maybe 10 times before filing the CR-1 and once after so far, and I've never had any real issues, knock on wood it continues.

Worth mentioning though it's very hard to get a tourist visa with an immigrant visa petition filed! If you already have one (or have ESTA for those from a visa waiver country), it's much easier to visit.

You can try but it might be difficult to get a tourist visa now that you have a pending I130, as to be able to be approved for a tourist visa you have to be able prove nonimmigrant intent, which a pending I130 proves that there is immigrant intent, so that already makes the chances slim. Nigeria also being one of the toughest, most high-fraud consulates also makes it more difficult. For most who visit the US during the process, they usually had already received US tourist visas before filing I130 or are in VWP countries, getting a tourist visa afterwards though in a non VWP is extremely tough. Nothing is impossible though so you can still try but expect the worst and hope for the best
