Potomac has literally stopped, they may have stopped processing I-130 due to a backlog of other forms that they simultaneously process and they shuffle resources. Hopefully, this will not be much longer and they get started again. We are next in line and it gets frustrating knowing that we are so close.

We are going away for the month of February and hoped we'd have our approval by now, but well, we all see what's (not) happening with Potomac. PD is July 24.

Was thinking we should at least get all the paperwork together for NVC stage have keep it on file to be ready whenever we finally hear from them, but I also know at this rate, NVC isn't likely to receive our case until we're back from our trip. How long are police records valid for?

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued.

That said you also need to look into your consulate, because different consulates have different rules for the interview and you may need to get it reissued before then. Some will accept a year, others, like SA require within six months. Some even ask for within 3 months. Good luck guys :( We are all in the Potomac boat together.

Saw on Facebook a 29th July PD approved from Texas, they're whizzing through the IOEs! Nebraska is apparently on February now, so hopefully once they also reach IOEs it will be fast people at that centre.

Really is a mystery with Potomac, feels oddly quiet. I wonder what they are up to, it's harder to guess now with the Case Tracker app since Texas has outpaced them.

Potomac is SUCH a mystery! We're mid-July so I'm just sort of hanging on waiting. We saw each other over Christmas and I was hoping to be able to be move before planning another visit, since crossing the border with a CR-1 in process makes me REALLY nervous (and will even more after NOA2), but if it's gonna be another 6 months before it's all done... may have to risk it.

CR-1 VISA TIMELINE (LONDON EMBASSY)

26th May 2019 — Married 💕

12th July 2019 — I-130 sent

19th July 2019 — NOA1, assigned Potomac service center

17th March 2020 — NOA2!
21st March 2020 — NVC case number received, all fees paid
25th March 2020 — Fees accepted, DS-260 completed
26th March 2020 — All NVC documents submitted
19th May 2020 — DQ!
2nd June 2020 — Expedite requested (primarily medical reasons)
5th June 2020 — Expedite approved by embassy
8th June 2020 — Case in transit NVC --> London

9th June 2020 — Call from London to schedule interview

16th June 2020 — Interview (221G, pending medical results, everything else fine)

17th June 2020 — Medical (mostly went well but something odd was showing on chest x-ray, cue stress)

22nd June 2020 — Medical confirmed all-clear and sent to embassy (P H E W)

2nd July 2020 — Visa status changed to issue, notification from courier

3rd July 2020 — Arrived at depot, informed I can't collect due to COVID-19 lockdown in Scotland. Had to get it rerouted (took a LOT of phonecalls)

4th July 2020 — Visa/passport received!

My husband and I are going to meet each other in Canada in 10 days to avoid the risk 😅 I feel your pain.

I was wondering about the "priority date" and how that works. I thought that the service centers went in order by PD, so it's interesting that someone on the 29th of July would have an answer (whether acceptance, rejection, RFE...) before someone at the beginning of July, isn't it? If they're both being processed at the same service center? Otherwise what is the role of the PD? Either way that's great that another July couple got approved! :)

@Eden Smith It means they touched it for some reason. ;)

@Alexsea I have also been wondering how it is so spread out and I think it may have to do with different case officers. Some may be faster than others. Also, I think verifying documents may take longer for certain countries so even though your PD may come first, perhaps they have to wait on someone else to send them information. 🤔 Purely guessing though.

My case was just updated today. From September 10 2019 to jan 10 2020. What does this actually mean?

20200111_073234.jpg

It could be a sign of good news. Before my case was approved, dates changed on 12/30, 1/3 and 1/6/20 case approved. PD 7/8/19

Kindly check ur USCIS account to see if all the documents u mailed now appears in the upload section of ur account.

If all are there, it could be another way to know that our case is nearing approval...
