Nobody has an answer to this question. July 2019 is the first cohort of IOE cases, and so far there haven't been any approvals yet.

USCIS has been randomly assigning IOE cases since Jan 2019 and quickly processing those cases to validate the whole system. Since they have assigned everyone the IOE case numbers starting from late June 2019, it means that the pilot phase is over. They have finished validating the system and decided that the new system is ready for all I-130 cases. So, my two cents is that all IOE cases are now in the same queue as the legacy cases. Even if IOE cases are more efficient for processing, the first cohort wouldn't see any benefits as all the legacy cases still need to be processed first.

I used a lawyer to file and according to him - as I-130 is still not officially in E-file but we are getting IOE numbers; which means that "pilot" has been extended to a full scale trial. God only knows the rest.

It's not a trial. It's how things will be for the end of time until a new system happens.

They scan your file at the lockbox then shred it. (Someone posted the link to the USCIS ioe process from the USCIS site somewhere here I should have saved it to save myself from typing all this all over and squash misinformation)

They send your digital file to a service center.

You wait in line like the others.

Speculation would be in the future they won't assign it to a service center. They will just grab cases from a pool of cases directly to an adjudicator at any center. So Potomac Nebraska Texas etc won't be so behind each other. That would be efficient and USCIS can follow the first in first out rule. Except for special cases obviously.

Makes sense. So they scan everything and we wait in line like everyone else. Cool. And fair. But is there any information on why we only see one or two random documents uploaded? I sent 40 pictures, the petition and other required docs. Just curious about how the scanning is done..

It's a new system. Honestly idk why they even show the documents at all. It just creates confusion and questions.  I'm pretty sure all your documents were scanned and saved. The question now is does scanning large petitions slow the process down because someone needs to sort it. Or does machine learning somehow sorts it and someone just verifies it. We will see as time goes on.

Everyone is pretty much thinking that IOE's are the norm now, and likely won't be as fast as some of the initial applications that were processed through the pilot program...  Right now, I'm basing our timeline based on  current processing times listed for Texas service center on USCIS. Looks like Nebraska is currently listed at 12-15 months, but I've seen so many people at Nebraska being approved sooner than that timeframe after applying for the K3 also...  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

No, it's not something anyone has to do... This post thoroughly explains what the K3 is and how people have been using it recently-

That is a great post.  Going to be submitting my 130 next week and will see what center it gets sent to before deciding whether to try this 129f business.  Thanks for sharing!

Also (from a friend not in the group): how long does it take to receive a response regarding a 130 expedite request after emailing USCIS the requested evidentiary documents?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think anyone in this thread has requested any expedites, and would have much knowledge on that...we're all still just from July... Might be worth asking that somewhere else, or doing a little search.

It's super thorough & informative, right? You should fill in your timeline, it benefits everyone to have updated data. :time: :D

Ok I’ll let her know. I tried researching with her but couldn’t find anything regarding an expedite timeline. There may be some July expedite filers, people file expedites for many reasons and sometimes concurrently with their 130 petition. Maybe someone will see this and be able to assist. But I’ll still tell her to ask in other groups.

Thanks.

Yes, of course! hopefully someone who has done an expedite will see your posts and could help. I did try to do some advance searches, for the last 6 months worth of posts- I'm not seeing much for results with that info (timelines for expedite request responses)... Out of curiosity, do you mind me asking, what reason your friend is supplying for the expedite request?
