Ugh so I had my interview, they kept my passport but we needed a co sponsor. my husbands grandad agreed to do it and i submitted the forms on ceac today.  He is retired but has money over the poverty guidelines. Between him and my husband it's like $100,000 a year. I really don't understand what is going on 😔 I emailed them yesterday and uploaded 8 pay slips from my husband and asked them to reconsider. And then today uploaded grandads documents and They emailed me this Today. Could it be that they haven't yet looked at his grandads documents.

Mention what you actually submitted. Sometimes lack of one supporting document results in the denial of i864 with generic notice of not meeting guidelines.

Oh sorry. I uploaded the affidavit of support form, social security benefits and department of veterans affairs income. He doesn't file taxes.

Assets are counted in 3:1 ratio when converting to income.

We didn't upload assets. We didn't know if we would need too. As his income counted over the poverty guidelines.

So he doesn't file taxes? In that case you may need to submit a short signed letter testifying why he is not required to file taxes, along with a verification of non-filing from the IRS.

Typically it's a one-size fits all approach. If you don't send the tax documents they are looking for without explaining why, they may toss the thing. There are many situations in why a person doesn't file taxes or can only provide some, not all of the tax documents they seek. They need to know why.

In the additional information box on the affidavit of support form he wrote due to the type of income he receives he is exempt from paying taxes on the income. And in one of his letters it says he is on disability.

Then what does this mean "He is retired but has money over the poverty guidelines"?
"Retired" implies he's not working so no income, and "has money" implies assets...

Anyway, do what arken says, list exactly what was submitted regarding the husband, and what was submitted regarding the joint sponsor.

Ohh okay.

His grandads benefits total $56,646,96 a year. I uploaded his social security benefits as proof with what he gets from them monthly and his department of veterans affairs income letter with what he gets from them monthly and its dated July 15th. And an affidavit of support form.

David uploaded his affidavit of support form, proof of current employment and earnings.

Earning $49,000 a year. Without overtime added. He uploaded his tax returns on the last 3 years, his current job is new and his been there 8 weeks. But earns enough for just me, him and when the baby gets here. So I don't know what's going on.

i was told at the interview that he filed the wrong affidavit of support form. He used the self employed one, one with EZ On the end, but they let it go over there head at the interview and just said to get a joint sponsor.

I just wanna be there. This is so stressful.
