The fees are described at the following link:

If you think you waited a long time for the immigration process, how about one YEAR to get I-130 approval (and then just add another year for the interview)!

IR-1/IR-2 approval on 9 March 2006 / Visas delivered 21 March 2006

Hi, when i left Philippines back in July last year i had to pay 550 Pesos for the exit fee plus 1,620 Pesos for PTA (Philippine Tourism Authority) Fee. I didn't know about the PTA fee until the time i was checking in my luggaged. I was surprised because all i knew was only 550 for the exit fee. Just make sure you have extra money in case they will add more fee since then. Goodluck!

I left from NAIA 4 times last year in Feb, Apr, Jul, and Nov and the 550PHP was the only fee I ever paid. I was never charged the PTA fee at checkin... perhaps it was included in my ticket price in advance.

Since I purchased my wife's one ticket from Manila to the US from the US, she had to pay the 1.620 pesos for the PTA tax at the airport along with the 550 peso departure tax.

When I bought round trip tix from US to Philippines, I only paid the 550 peso departure tax at the Manila airport.

Only Filipino citizens are required to pay the Philippine travel tax of P1,620. If a ticket is purchased in the US in behalf of a Philippine-passport holder, more often than not, the travel tax would not be included in the cost. If this happens, the P1,620 will be collected at the airport upon departure in addition to the P550 terminal fee.

A terminal fee of P550 (or $11) is collected from everyone regardless of citizenship.

My husband purchased the ticket here in US too, that's why maybe i had to pay PTA tax at the airport.

I flew in to Manila (i.e., NAIA, and there is actually a domestic airport adjacent to the main one) and out of Manila 2 times: Sep 2005 and Feb 2006, only had to pay the exit fee (550 Pesos last time to leave) and never encountered Tourisim Tax. If you have to take a taxi from the airport, apparently there are no metered taxis (although I have been told by others that metered taxis are available if you walk somewhere else), and there is apparently a standard rate as a Fx of where you go. Actually before this set up, there have been some robberies in the remote past in which metered taxis wd take the Kano off and rob them. With this standard cost, the official apparently writes down the taxi and name of rider in case of problems. Airport to Makati area where the Best Western Astor is located was a standard fee of about 500 Pesos (10 USD).

If you go upstairs- take the escalator (if it is working  ) just outside customs and you can catch a taxi from the departure area when someone else is dropped off at the airport. The police will help you - for a tip (some, will refuse the tip). Tell the driver you will take the taxi, but only if they use the meter (sasakay ako pero metro tayo). Most drivers will do this instead of waiting in line for another fare. The fare from the airport to Makati is generally about 130P. This is why the airport-arranged taxi is ripoff, and is also known as the "taxi-mafia".

Most of the robberies, occured when a taxi driver goes the airport looking for a foreigner to rob. My suggestion (used by many) is just as if you are hailing a taxi off of the street from anywhere in Manila. There is no added risk, as the taxi does not know that the people they are dropping off are heading to the airport before they picked them up - hence, they are not hopeing or expecting that they will have a "cano" in their cab to rob.
