Hi all,

My fiancee got her k1 visa on her passport!

She also got a thick envelope saying, "Important Notice. To be opened by a U.S. Immigration or Public Health Service Officer. This is your visa - it must be surrendered to the US immigration officer at a port of entry into the US - do not pack it - it must be hand carried."

So she will be flying from Seoul to San Francisco to Atlanta.

In San Francisco, does she give her package to the US customs official and then they permanently keep it?

Does she have her passport with visa enclosed in her possession?

The envelope is your case file info. She needs to follow the directions given very carefully, DO NOT OPEN the envelope. It sounds like San Francisco will be her POE, she should give the envelope to the CBP agent at the customs and immigration area upon arrival. They will then process her K1 visa.....Welcome to the United States, then wait for next flight onto Atlanta.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Indeed, she should carry it in her hand luggage and hand it to the CBP officer first thing.

Congratulations and good luck!
