I have completed my ACPO ready for my interview. I have just come to read the requirements page for the interview and noticed it has talked about fingerprints and places in the UK to get them completed.

Are the finger prints necessary when completing the ACPO or not? The website is confusing.

thanks

I don’t entirely understand what you mean - are you referring to the ACRO (police certificate)? In which case, you just need to request this via the ACRO website, no fingerprints needed.

Re your visa interview, you’ll have fingerprints done at the interview.

Which website is confusing you?

On the checklist site it talks about getting fingerprints completed and supplies a list of places in the UK to get them.

Do I need my fingerprints done as well as the ACRO before the interview?

thanks

I don't believe you need fingerprints done for the police certificate. I just filled out the online application form, had my necessary documents and info on me, paid the fee and it arrived in the post 2 weeks later.

A checklist for the visa interview? Please post the website link - but no, I’ve never heard of this - for my B1 visa, my fingerprints were done at the embassy, and it’s the same for a K1. If you post a link to the checklist you’re referring to, might be easier 🙃

There a few foreign countries that will not provide a police certificate without fingerprints. So if you were needing a certicate from living in one of those few countries, they tell you which police stations in the UK could do those for you. Australia used to be one such country.

ACRO does not need prints.

Correct. I did not need fingerprints for my ACRO certificate. I did need them for one of my foreign certificates.  Count yourself blessed. It is a hassle and expensive process to get fingerprints and often those countries that require them still insist on the old ink style prints, not the digital ones like you get in the US  :D
