Question about items needed

I was approved NOA2 11 Jul 19 via email. I am a very proactive person. I will start calling the NVC in 1-2 weeks every other day for my new case #. My husband whose in Dominican Republic has already received, in hand: AOS w/my tax papers etc, marriage certificate, picture album. I have him working on: his translation of birth certificate from French to English, police certificate soon. Is there anything else I'm missing as I'll be in DR next mth. Big question! When is the next available medical dates available? Within days, weeks or mths precisely? Thank you for your follow up.

So you are CR1/IR1, this means that after the NVC has received, reviewed and accepted all your documents, they will send you a letter with the interview date. As soon as you have your interview date, you can schedule your medical, it might be different in some countries but in CR1/IR1 cases, the doctor needs the interview date.

From what we see now, wait times for an interview in DR are pretty long. You do not even want to schedule your medical at any time now because it will probably be expired by the time you have your interview as it is only valid for 6 months..

So for now, just wait for your case number from NVC. Calling them every other day is a little over the top I think so just use this time to gather all your documentation to make sure that you are ready for the NVC stage.

I received my case number after 5,5 weeks.

Good luck!

You have to have an interview date before you go take the exam.  My husband went early to do his medical.  it's kinda like first come first serve and it's a lot of people that go.

He doesn't necessarily need to have your AOS with your tax papers, etc. until date of the interview. You will need them to upload them onto the CEAC website come time NVC assigned your case numbers and your fees are paid. Def get everything translated to english if they are in French. Anything in spanish or english doesn't need a translation.

You do not need to make an appointment for the medical exam, just need to show up without an appt. But you need to wait until you receive the interview letter before he can go. You need to schedule an appt for fingerprinting, but again wait for the interview letter. Those fingerprinting appts are available within days.

I'll PM you everything I uploaded at the NVC stage after I received the case number and paid the fees.

We got ours the same day you got yours. We called today and they said it could take up to 6 weeks to get the new case number.   Kindly keep me updated when you get your new case number. Thank you.
