As soon as the letter arrives, do the walk-in at the service center. I had no problem doing my wife's bio metrics early. At the ASC here they said the best day is Wednesday to get things done, as it is the slowest day in most ASC's. They actually said they call it " Walk in Wednesday" for this reason.

ASC* (not service center...although I'm assuming some service centers may act as an ASC as well)

YMMV. Some ASCs will let you do the walk in. Some won't. Call ahead and find out.

Thanks everybody for the advice and yes although I was very frustrated never meant to be hostile to anyone plz know my intentions were all good! I did end up contacting my congressmen again and they followed up. Biometrics is now finally scheduled for July 9th. I still think it's late, 90 days after receiving my paperwork but I'm going to wait and be patient. @Villanelle I think you hit the nail on the head too, not much else to do now.

Now ill ill just wait until biometrics. Then we'll see. Thanks again guys.

Yes, the early walk-in thing is at the discretion of the ASC. I did the early walk-in once. My ASC requires you to have the appointment letter and travel itenerary to prove that you will not be around on the scheduled day before they would do a walk-in.

Travel itinerary as in- flights or something? I really want to try to do a walk in but don't really have an 'excuse' as my life here is pretty bland: no job, so I can make it to them any day...

I don't think all of them require an excuse. It all depends on your center. You might want to use the search function to find out how things are at your center.

Yes I printed out me booked flight tickets to show that I was gonna 12,000 miles away on that day. As mentioned, not all of them require that. Some will let you do it mo matter what and and some will not let you do it no matter what

Hi guys!

Very nervous to get excited too early. If you know any of my other posts you know Ive been working on expediting my EAD and this morning my case was finally assigned to an officer (the big status just said 'fingerprints have been processed' and the small case history thing said the second down the one were it says 'assigned to officer', I have been checking back all day to see the status change and just now I saw this change:

713194478_ScreenShot2019-07-12at5_06_41PM.thumb.png.ef8bfafa7507821dd70b564b87053e30.png

So the big one has changed to 'card being produced' but the small case history one does not say the 'expedite request approved' that I was expecting???

I don't know weather or not this is the good news that I was hoping for! Anybody with a history of expedite req for EAD who can shed some light? Furthermore: I also have not yet received an email from them saying anything today, which I also sort of expected since all expedite info has been via email so far....

What do you guys think?

Yes, that is what the status changes to when they approve your I-765. You'll get an additional notification when they mail it to you.

Congrats!

Thank you!

And it's normal that the small status under case history doesn't say anything about it? And that I did not get an email?

Yes, it didn't change for me. They're going to mail you the approval notice and it usually arrives a few days before the card itself. I think the only email you'll get might be an automatic one related to the status update (give it 24 hours or so)

Update: I was able to do a walk in for my biometrics on July 3rd, simply told them that I had an appointment on the 9th and asked them if there was anything they could do for me that day. I was told to come back later and they saw me then. July 8th my biometrics were processed and July 13th I received the approval of my expedite request.
